Poppins Romford — Restaurant in London

A great food place here this chain of 34 or so restaurants are now today and slap bang in the middle of the Romford Town Centre too, run by my now good Turkish friend and his Crew, Ozzie. Like everybody else and his dog now Ozz has had to put up their prices there several times now after lockdown and the cost of living crises that now followed it. English/American menus, very tasty I thought. Their Cod Fish and Chips is to die for and comes VERY recommended by me. Yummy! You have to get in EARLY on Fridays to make sure Moses, Tony, Ozzie and his other cook Ouzzie [ forgive my spelling but I don't speak Turkish you see ] don't run out of cod fish first though each week! Haha.. Very popular dish.. Excellent food service and noisy but warm and comfortable atmosphere in here. Loadsa OAP'S use it too. Kiddies get spoiled, ( free lollypop sometimes, from Ozzie too, when you pays your bill! )... they'll love all the good old fashioned ice creams and sweets. Children have their own meal menu too. Come and help us fill it up - more! Creates more jobs in the economy! Also, Ozzie takes great pride in looking after many of the customers personally too during his busy days ( with market days on Wednesdays Thursdays, Fridays/Saturdays too? with Sundays Xmas time as well too in Romfords famous Market Square since 'Bad' King John Warranted it from approx 1215ad ) which is rare these days seeing he is the proprietor of the Cafe/Restaurant as well. Generally not a bad establishment to eat in However the portions have got smaller recently and they put water and plenty of ice in the coke to make it go further. I have actually heard the head waitress tell new waitresses to make sure that they put plenty of ice in the coke to make it go further They are really tight they only give you one very thin serviette You need at least 2 or 3 especially when eating something greasey.I do understand that some people steal them but surely at least two would help.you shouldn't have to ask. We ordered two breakfast along with two American coffees to a lady with black hair and wearing a pink redish lipstick, however they served to white coffees and we send them back specifying that we ordered to American coffees therefore black coffees and without milk. The lady who took the order wearing the pink redish lipstick came to the table with aggressive attitude and tell us off because with ordered coffee and they served coffee with milk .. my wife replied back that we asked for American coffee and is a black coffee otherwise we would have ordered white coffee.. we were almost to leave the place after her act but we didn’t as we were on a schedule to go somewhere. The lady ruined the morning mood with a very poor aggressive Attitude and poor customer service.. we were regulars to this place and after today we will never go back there, they lost...
