Lovely place to eat a snack/meal. Its prices are not too pricey. They also sell some treats to take home and jams marmalade etc. Friendly staff. There are several tables outside with umbrellas and lots of seating inside. My only gripes are there range of drinks could be improved. My main gripe is that on a few occasions on hot days I have noticed there were no cold drinks to buy. There were instead 'barely chilled' drinks. I tried to find one because my sister really wanted a cold drink (it is an effort to get her to drink water) and there were none. There is a notice on the fridge saying we can ask for a cold drink at the counter. Of course there weren't any so i asked for a little ice as that would be something at least. No cold drinks (not luke warm) and no ice. I was not impressed so we had to make do with the tap water. Second time the same scenario presented itself . I try to bear an open mind in that perhaps on hot days there are only a limited amount of cold drinks that sell out quickly? I have to say I cannot understand how an eating establishment cannot provide cold drinks or at least some ice to make them cold. I went back recently and again it was the same thing. This time I came prepared with my own drinks because the last thing I want to drink on a hot day is a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEarly May bank holiday, pretty busy, but waited five minutes for a table to become available (we were luckier than others), and queued another fifteen minutes for food. When we got to the front we found that, at 12:20, there were no baked potatoes left (only GF option I could see on the menu) and no childrenās sandwiches. We had already tried the small cafe round the corner but they had no sandwiches left at all at midday. So with no options for kids, who were starving hungry, we had no choice but to cut the whole visit short and head home. The table of six next to us had to share a single pasty and a couple of scones.
Very poor planning, management and customer service - if items are unavailable then cross them off the chalkboard, and put a notice up at the entrance. Donāt make us queue to find out.
I get that bank holidays are unpredictable (ish) but itās London - the park is always busy at weekends, and to run out of basics like potatoes and sandwiches in both locations by 12:20 is inexcusable. If we canāt rely on food being available then we will have to go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited this cafe on a busy Sunday morning. We were served quickly and ordered our food and drinks, having been advised it was take out only. The order was ready relatively quickly, the buzzer system worked well. We collected our take out and made our way into the park. I am not quite sure how they could over cook the bacon as much as they did. It seemed like Saturday's bacon reheated several times served in a non fresh bap sans butter. All the breakfast rolls were cremated and not enjoyable. So frustrated as we didnt have the time to complain. The dog however, was satisfied with the unexpected 2nd breakfast. Having used this place several times before I know they can do better, that's why they...
