Pret A Manger — Restaurant in London

Had a salad with my sisters around 1:30pm today. We were sitting by the window, facingPiccadilly/Green Park, when an Asian looking man with a blue facemask approach our table and started clearing away the lids and salad dressing containers from our table. We assumed he was a member of staff, but he was a thief who stole my mobile phone right next to me on the table. By the time I realised what had happened, he had walked out and disappeared. Staff wasn’t very helpful. When I told them that a man who seemed like staff had stolen my IPhone and walked off, they suggested to call the police. How could I call the police without a phone? When I asked them to call the police, they somewhat hesitantly gave me the café‘s landline phone. After handing the phone back, I wasn’t told ‚ we are sorry or is there anything else we can do for you‘. Very upsetting incident. No security at Pret‘s, anyone can walk in and steal from customers. There is a security camera on the ceiling, but I was told by staff footage will only released to the police if requested by the police. Customers beware! Never...

The service wasn’t too bad but the toilets were a mess and there was rubbish in the store. The downstairs seating area was also closed during business hours too.

The seating area I say in was spacious and there were sockets to charge devices and Wi-Fi too. The tables were dirty and there were people constantly walking in and out who weren’t customers to use the toilet which got annoying.

The toilets themselves were filthy and vandalised; probably due to the sheer number of customers that go in and out and someone was sleeping inside the toilet too, I’ve added photos.

Customer service provided by the staff was average and the drink tasted okay but was a bit expensive for what it was. Otherwise it was okay and the selection of food was good considering normally it’s often stolen; they had lots of food available.

There was a pile of rubbish left behind the counter.

Altogether an average visit but I probably wouldn’t return to this store or recommend it to friends and family due to the issues...
