Thinking of a dog friendly London break? 🐾 🏙️ Here’s our vlog from our dog friendly stay at the Sheraton Grand Hotel London Park Lane - located a walking distance from Hyde Park, Buckingham palace & Oxford street 🐾 The staff went above and beyond and treated TJ like a king 👑🐶 Our room had a dog bed, blanket and bowl ready for TJ, and they even provided dog treats 😋 The hotel also houses the dog friendly restaurant Smith & Whistle where we have visited before 🐾 They have a dog menu and they cooked up TJ a delicious meal as well as a dog beer 🍺 They had an extensive drinks menu, delicious cocktails and our food was absolutely amazing too! 🍽️ 🍸 😋 For breakfast we headed to the Mercante restaurant where they had an amazing buffet as well as a la carte options. TJ made a new best friend Paolo who made sure our stay was amazing and he kept TJ topped up with Sausages and eggs 🍳 The Green Park is just 20 Metres from the front of the hotel perfect for taking TJ out when he needed to go. And after breakfast we headed to @Selfridges which is dog friendly 🐾 After a good stroll and a bit of shopping we headed back to the Mercante restaurant for a late lunch and the Italian food was fantastic 🇮🇹 They also cooked TJ a lunch which kept him happy. This is one of the most amazing dog friendly stays we have been on and definitely recommend this for a special occasion, all the staff were super friendly and TJ made a lot of friends 😁 @Sheraton Hotels #prvisit #dogfriendly #doglondon #dogfriendlylondon #dogfriendlyuk #dogsoflondon #londondog #londonfrenchies #frenchiesoflondon #ukfrenchie #ukfrenchies #dogdining #dogresturant #frenchieuk #frenchiesuk #frenchbulldog #frenchbulldoguk #londondogfriendly #dogfriendlytravel #dogfriendlyplaces #doghotellondon #doghotel #dogstay #londonrestaurants #london #Londonrestaurants #doghotel #dogfriendlyhotel #dogfriendlyhotels #londonhotel

Nightmare. Stayed here before in very hot August. Club Lounge was full of children in the evening when we visited. I know that in the summer, many people from hotter countries come to London with their families to escape the heat back home. Our visit coincided with that and unfortunately the Club Lounge was where the children and babies were deposited. The room then was was excellent and the air-con could just about cope. This time the room was a nightmare. Visited in March 2025, Mid-week, Room 716. Smaller than before but high up and away from the front so we thought it should be quiet at least. And no kids! How wrong we were. First thing was the overpowering smell. Like insect spray, and talcum powder. Really got to my sinuses. I've never had problems with my sinuses. Thought there had been a problem and they must had fumigated the room or something. The room was also very noisy. Couldn't stay so decided to ask to be moved. Don't like to complain. Our call at 5pm was dismissed outright. "No other rooms available." Which I knew to be false. Shocked at the outright rejection of our request we pondered on what to do next. While we were discussing options the phone rang. The young lady, in a very direct attitude, said she could show us another room but that it wouldn't make any difference because they were all the same. I asked to see the other room. She did not like that. A few minutes later she arrived and her choice of rooms was the one immediately next door. Which, as she warned, was identical. Smell too. So we stayed in 716. The measure of any business is how they handle complaints. I had a sleepless night as my sinuses were under constant attack. And the unceasing noise from the extractors opposite went on 24/7. I had hoped they were from the kitchen, banqueting or something that would finish around midnight, but I was wrong again. Earlier, about 8 or 9pm we had room service. Five mins after it was delivered a group of people tried to smash their way into our room. Kicking and thumping on our door. I told my wife to go into the bathroom and lock the door. I armed myself with a dinner knife and opened the door. I just managed to see some feet disappear around the corridor corner. I called guest services, no reply. I called the emergency button on the phone and was greeted with "Hello, Guest Services!" Told them what happened and asked them to investigate and get back to me the following day as our food had just arrived. They promised to check the CCTV and have the manager contact me at 9am. They didn't. When I left the hotel at 10am I put a do not disturb sign on the door and left the windows wide open all day. That made the smell less aggressive and at lease I got some sleep that night. Except for about 2:15am when a group of teenagers made a lot of noise running down the corridor. I came to the conclusion that it must have been American Spring Break as it was mid week and there were also American school aged children still using the Club Lounge as a crèche. NOISE? Unrelenting, Noise. I downloaded the NIOSH SLM app. According to that, the noise was 45db on my pillow. 52+db at the window, and 60+db when the window was opened two inches. That is considered "Annoying". Anything above 70db is considered Harmful. Room service burger and fish and chips were very good but the Triple cooked chips were served in a teacup sized container. Didn't get much more than six to a portion. Photo shows two portions plus another portion of French Fries that came with the burger. Won't be going back.

Normally I do not leave reviews of hotels or other accommodations. I am a platinum elite Marriott member as well as a loyal Marriott credit card holder. I am currently on my honeymoon and staying at our 4th Marriott hotel on this trip. My wife and I figured we would end our momentous trip by staying at this hotel. Earlier in our trip we stayed at the Marriott Park Lane which was exquisite. I cannot say the same for this location. On our first night we had smelled the overbearing smell of cigarettes coming from the bathroom. We are an easygoing couple and assumed it was from the cigar bar below. The next morning we mentioned this to the front desk hoping it was a small issue. Aside from the insinuation at the front desk that we somehow caused the smell, it was noted that anything found in the room would result in a fee as smoking was illegal (We are not smokers!). After a day out and about we returned to the same overbearing smell. We then mentioned the issue again at which point the hotel asked if they could send maintenance and housekeeping to “refresh the room”. While we sat to relax on our last night of the honeymoon three separate parties came to the room to check for “issues”. Although all three parties that came by smelled and acknowledged the issue, water and tea was brought to the room as a good faith gesture. Shortly after them checking the vents, neighboring rooms, etc. nothing was found. I suggested maybe it was the vent that looked like it had not been cleaned in years. After no more than 15 minutes the smell permeated again into our bedroom. I walked down to speak with the manager personally. Aside from her not willing to discuss the issue with me and sending a front desk associate to have us move, she finally came out to talk. I highlight the issue and chain of events which resulted in her offer to switch our room. I then brought her upstairs so she too could acknowledge the smell…which she did. We were then brought to a new room. I asked if there was any level of compensation provided because our whole night had been interrupted (over the course of 4 hours, up and down stairs highlighting the issue). Oh and the elevator doesn’t work because it’s been broken for “four months”. The manager called to offer us a 50% discount. We then moved to the room at which point housekeeping walked in with no knock. The manager called again to apologize and offered the same 50% discount. I have never asked for a new room or discount from any hotel I have ever stayed at, let alone complained about anything. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and I highly recommend you do the same. If you are looking for a place to stay in the area, I highly suggest the Marriott on Park Lane just up the road. It’s the same price point with much better service and amenities and not to boot, you have access to the Spa. Best wishes, but buyer beware at this location!!!

Compliments:

Despite the small (slightly cramped) room size, the space is well thought-out: (a) pocket door to the bathroom; (b) wet room with a separate shower and bathtub, (c) plenty of towel rods and an extra hook in the wet room for easy participation in SPG’s “Make a Green Choice” program, (d) combination closet/drawers, (e) electrical outlets and USB ports above the desk and end tables.

Decor is modern and clean; high and low lighting options in the bedroom with nice, bright lighting in the bathroom.

Kudos regarding the dual combination rubbish and recycling receptacle under the desk.

Extensive list of on-demand amenities includes commonly forgotten or last-minute needs (e.g., hair straighteners/curling irons, feminine products, lint brushes, even flower vases) and items that parents of small children can appreciate (e.g. rubber bath mat, diapers, wipes, bed rails and booster seats).

Their proper rollaway crib is much appreciated over the pack-and-play we have sometimes received at non-SPG properties.

Sheraton’s Signature Bed never disappoints.

Courteous, friendly and responsive staff.

Early check-in was greatly appreciated — especially with a 15-month old toddler in tow.

Sophisticated lobby and common areas with three places to dine and/or enjoy an adult beverage or tea when one does not want to brave the elements.

Location in Mayfair is both central and posh.

Suggestions:

Participation in the “Make a Green Choice” program means that housekeeping won’t enter your room to make the bed, empty trash, replace mini bar and bathroom amenities without a guest’s specific request. Rather than forgoing full housekeeping, participation in the program might be more attractive if certain services still take place without a guest request. I would prefer that housekeeping still enter to make/straighten the bed with the existing sheets, remove trash, bring fresh laundry bags, replace emptied bathroom amenities, and restock the mini bar items — in particular, the complimentary bottled water and coffee. There would still be a savings of water, electrical, natural gas and cleaning products even if general tidying services were provided while towels and bed linens are reused.

Don’t forget to offer Gold and Platinum members their Welcome Gift at check-in. It’s embarrassing to have to go back and effectively ask, “What do I get?” (Haha!)

A hook to hang a toiletry bag near the bathroom vanity would be convenient.

Obviously, there is not a lot I can realistically suggest to improve this property or our stay. The elevators are few and slow, but the wait is only painful if you’re in a hurry. For what the hotel lacks in state-of-the-art technology (e.g., dated elevators, televisions and phones), it makes up in architectural character and charm.

Thank you for making it so pleasant for our 15-month toddler and me to comfortably join my husband on his business trip. He plans to make the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane his hotel of choice whenever he’s in London (and when the nightly rate does not exceed his corporate policy/per diem, as it does fluctuate on the expensive side); he was pleased with the accommodations and fitness center and enjoyed the nearby parks for jogging.

Special mention of housekeeping staff, who kindly and graciously tended to our room when Baby Sydney smeared fresh berries on the white duvet two...
