Ravel's Bistro — Restaurant in London

Hubby and I decided to get dinner here as the ratings were super high. We were definitely not disappointed.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were instantly greeted and seated by the waiter. His timing is impeccable. He seated us, handed us the menu, and gave us some time to look at the menu. He grabbed our drink order, and our drinks were served within 10 minutes. After that, he took our order, brought us bread, and the timing between the appetizer, mains, and dessert was perfect.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was intimate and homey. The food was amazing and on point. Not to mention, the price relative to the quality of the food was very good. We ordered the seafood soup to share, the bake salmon, the duck breast, and we shared the apple and plum dessert. The seafood soup was a large enough portion to share between the two of us, and there were ample amounts of seafood (salmon, mussels, shrimps) that were perfectly cooked and super tender. The bake salmon was perfectly cooked, super tender, and not overdone at all. The duck breast was a perfect medium rare, as I had requested. Both hubby and I were very happy with our meal. And, after ordering two glasses of wine, an appetizer to share, two mains, a side of creamy potatoes, a dessert to share, and a dessert wine, our bill amounted to 80 pounds. We've definitely paid more at other places and we're not as satisfied and happy with our meals

Overall, the service was excellent, the food was excellent, and I'd definitely recommend trying this place out. In fact, hubby and I will be back to try more things on this menu. I think we've finally found our neighborhood gem. We definitely say this is among the top restaurant meals we've...

I do not usually write a negative report but here is one where the restaurant really ned to be told. We arrived and were seated and drinks appeared ok. Then we ordered. Only one of us had a starter, two ordered standard Sunday lunch- roast beef, Yorkshire pud. etc, and one nut roast. The starter appeared within a short time. An hour later we had still not seen the main courses. No explanation from the waiter who stood around. No apology- when I told him the wait was unacceptable he muttered something I think about us being ten minutes late (which we had phoned ahead) . Usually when there is an exceptional delay the staff say something, maybe offer additional drink, apologise...something. So the food came after I made a fuss. It was fine. Good but not exceptional versus any decent pub. How long does it take to put together a couple of bits of roast beef on a standard Sunday menu? Maybe offer free desserts to compensate for long wait. Not a bit of it and they had the cheek to add 'service' to the bill. I notice all the good reviews are a long time ago. I wont be going back. They (and particularly the waiter) need to learn something about customer service. The whole thing felt as if they are just arrogant -...

I know this place roughly since it was opened. From the first time after I tried their breakfast I realise that there is something here that is very difficult to find in London. The owner of the place is a great chef and he really wants to succeed. They care about service and quality of food. Sometimes a very little difference in cooking can differ a good food from a great food. This guy knows it... Today I tried (first time) the Sunday roast. I will not exaggerate if I say that this was the best Sunday roast I've had so far. Every piece of vegetable was perfect. My choice was chicken and it was really really tasty.
