HAPPY HEALTHY EATING HIDDEN IN CHELSEA... Raw Press is a London based health food company and this is it's second location, just off Sloane Street and a couple of minutes walk from Sloane Square. But this is by no means going to catch passing trade. You do need to search this establishment as it is slightly off the beaten track (not by much, but just enough to miss). I'd come to dine here on a friend's suggestion as she was departing to Heathrow from the area. She was already tucking into what looked like an extremely health "spaghetti" (we concluded it was made from courgette). The service was exceptional as Yva quickly suggested I try one of the mixed salads. It was a tremendous portion and the perfect mixture of crispy and soft and flavoursome and spicy. The Almond Milk Hot Chocolate literally tasted as good as it looked. The space is clean bright, the touches of herbs growing on the shelves and the toasters on the table give it a quirk that's neither pretentious or gimmicky but totally in keeping with the environment. As all these establishments tend to be, it is a bit on the pricey side, £9 for a small salad £12 for a large, Hot Chocolate with Almond Milk £4 but it is Chelsea and it is organic. Not really a destination restaurant but if you're on Sloane Square for the Royal Court Theatre, Cadogan Hall or heading back from the Saatchi Gallery and want something health and fresh take the little detour to find it. Your body will thank you.

I went here twice during my stay in London. I love the concept that you can build your own bowl (you can choose a hot base (porridge) or a cold one (yoghurt, smoothie bowl,…) and then add toppings like fruit, granola, nut butters and even protein powder). I think more cafes should offer this concept, because it allows for lots of different combinations so you can always try something new and everyone can choose and modify their breakfast according to their preferences. However I think the portions are quite small. And I would like to point out that even if you choose to dine in the food and drinks are served in paper or plastic cups and bowls with singular usage forks and spoons. It‘s not very nice and is obviously not environmentally friendly. Why not serve it with real plates, bowls and cutlery?

Really disappointed. We were eating in so we expected to be served mugs but we just got paper takeaway cups which isn't very planet friendly - so much consumer waste! We had a long black coffee which was bitter and tasteless (and they had no sweeteners which is not great for diabetics). We also had a matcha chai latte which was nice until the bottom because the chai wasn't properly mixed and it was overpowering and full of bits (see photo). Finally we had a lemon and poppy seed muffin which was dry. The tables are too close together inside but the place itself is nicely decorated and has good music!

Nice healthy 100% vegan grub, unlike other similar looking cafes ie juicebaby etc this one isn’t clinical looking and actually has a nice human touch and some personality to it, although I’d still like to see some hand written chalk board or something, I love branding as much as the next guy but when I think of healthy I think of earthy and great to see a little more human touch ie some chalk or an A frame on the kerb. Another good note, I happened to be there while the owner was around, overheard the way he talked to staff and others on the phone and seemed like a nice kind sounding chilled out bloke, staff seem happy and service is great. Place has a good vibe. Interior is nice but needs a little more earth to it, personally I’d paint the white planters on the wall brown to break up all the white wall ... but that’s just me. Prices are pretty reasonable and the norm maybe ever cheaper than other similar themed raw cafes.

The avocado on toast is a little too guac tasting and nothing beats real untainted sliced avocado on toast, smashed avocado always kind of seems like a cop out to me, nothing beats the real deal and if that’s hard to source ripe understandable but maybe smash it and don’t over lemon it or it goes a little too guacamole, just smash no oil no lemon. Great place, great staff and a decent owner I think so yeah...

When I came, I ordered an açaí …. It was pre-packed and I was quite surprised to see they don’t have powdered milk to add …. Guys this is so strange.

HOW DO YOU SELL AÇAI WITHOUT POWDER MILK ????????? This is like a pizza restaurant not having basil 🌿 or a sushi restaurant not serving tuna ORRRR a fish and chips shop not serving mushy peas.

Updated review:

Response from the owner: “Hi — it’s not pre-packed. We blend them fresh but pre-make the bases for speed of service in the morning. I’ve never heard of adding powdered milk to an acai bowl, and we are a plant-based cafe in any case so this isn’t something that we would do.”

Hello- I have a couple of points to make. Firstly, I’m not sure what do you mean by “we blend them fresh”. Açaí should be sold to food service establishments already softened, so I’m not sure what you are actually blending.

My mistake for not noticing Raw Press is a PB cafe, however, you’re selling a product you don’t know it’s full extent and pairing options. Powdered milk and condensed milk are very common to see as an ingredient.

Looking at the reviews below, speed in preparing your menu is not your specialty anyways so it is also strange why the açaí is...
