Roni's Bakery - Hampstead — Restaurant in London

Sorry guys I have to say. English breakfast - really disappointing. Especially in line with the price. I get that Hamstead is a gentrified location and prices will reflect that, but if your going to charge £12/£13 + for a small breakfast, you gotta back it up with some quality :(

My sausages were pink in the middle and you charged me £5.99 for a potion of chips on the side. £20 plus service charge for a very average breakfast with a can of coke - sometimes you want a fry up in a nicer setting - but your better off just going to a standard builders cafe. Turkey bacon I swapped with sausage - but seriously, turkey bacon? The sausages (apart from being undercooked) weren’t even premium type sausages either.

Eggs were done very well to be fair, and I like how your bagels are bakery style - the only saving grace but not enough.

Staff were nice enough. But wouldn’t go again or recommend. Felt a bit robbed - feel bad leaving this review but I hope this will help improve the offering - as too many places are charging ‘London prices’ because they can, but not backing it up with any quality, thought, or...

Food was good and the blond waitress was friendly, however the brunette at the till was so rude. I had yet to pay my bill and was asking about the cakes and biscuits as I wanted to get some. She kept repeating how much I owed for my meal as if I was going to make a runner for a pathetic ~20£ she was so dismissive wouldn't even finish answering my questions. Not only that she jumped to the lady behind me while I was still asking questions. Clearly in her opinion that lady was a more valuable customer with her bag of bagels!! To top it up there was a second girl at the till doing nothing who could have served her. Maybe I wasn't white enough for her?! I used to get biscuits and cakes from there before lockdown happened, because of her rude behaviour I deliberately didn't get anything else. I will not be...

Unfortunately my experience of eating at Roni's was not as positive as it had been at other branches. I ordered french toast (which I have had before at another branch and elsewhere). After a couple of bites I realised it was soggy and under cooked. Looking underneath, I could see it was only cooked on the top side. It was pretty disgusting, raw soggy bread that had been dipped in egg and not cooked properly. I complained, I assume the staff member did not understand my complaint as when repeating back the issue to me, she said I wanted it well cooked, I repeated the issue of it being uncooked, but sure enough the replacement I received was now thoroughly burnt on the underside. This is not a difficult dish to prepare. I will not be returning. What a shame as there are few quality places...
