*update* **I recently made an order on Saturday 22 April and the chicken cashew stir fry was awful. It was not fresh at all. The vegetables were soggy and wilted and the chicken looked like it was sitting there so long that it began to disintegrate. The portion of the sticky rice is now significantly smaller and prices have generally gone up across the menu. I also ordered vegetable spring rolls and the plastic container that has the sweet chilli was MELTED!! As if it was put in a microwave. I was very disappointed 😔** I ordered Rosa’s Thai in Deliveroo at least 10 times (if not more) and have sat In the beautiful restaurant once. My experiences have consistently been excellent. Food choices are great and portions are generous!! It’s even become a favourite of my kids. Please put the Thai iced tea back on the delivery menu 🙏🏼 I also highly recommend the chicken cashew stir fry ! You will not be disappointed!

Decent restaurant for Thai food but a bit disappointed with our last visit here for lunch. We wanted to try their much advertised express lunch and it didn't hit the mark. The drink they offer are all cold which is not the best option in the current weather. The staff member said that we cannot switch it to a hot drink which was unusual. We had to opt for a small bottle of ice cold water and a pandan lemongrass drink which was not all that good. The satay chicken was overcooked and was tough. The red curry was watery. Finally, when I informed them about the local discount card I had, they said that I can't use it for lunch which was again a rule that felt absurd. At £14 each plus service, we felt it was a very expensive lunch with a sub par quality of food. The service added that extra blow to the disappointment.

Visited here with friends. The service from the staff was amazing and how quick the food prepared was great. However, the quality of the food was awful (probably because it came from kitchen to table too quickly). Got the chicken broth, which the waiter even advised has no flavour (but we didn't believe him) and believe it when we say we put so much seasoning in it to try and get some flavour. Ordered pad thai which got sent back to the kitchen because it smelt like raw, rotten egg which then put everyone off their food. The Aubergine dish has uncooked aubergine 😳 I tried to make contact to let the team know and they were not interested. I guess it's another place taking your money and providing no care after. £120 down the drain and we left with quite a sour experience.

A Delicious Evening at Rosa's Thai in Wimbledon

Rosa’s Thai in Wimbledon offered an enticing mix of new dishes and recipes that brought a delightful slice of Thailand to our evening. The restaurant’s warm ambience, coupled with friendly and attentive staff, set the perfect stage for our Thai feast.

We began with Thai Fried Chicken, a new dish featuring aromatic, crispy wings garnished with fried shallots and paired with sweet chilli sauce. The crunch and flavour combination made it a promising start. Next, we indulged in the 'Tod Mun Goong' Prawn Doughnuts, crispy prawn cakes coated in panko breadcrumbs and served with a sticky plum sauce. This dish stole the spotlight; the balance of textures and flavours was outstanding. The 'Gai Satay' Chicken Satay also stood out with its grilled chicken thigh skewers marinated in lemongrass, served with toasted bread, peanut sauce, and cucumber relish. Each bite was reminiscent of authentic street food in Thailand.

For the mains, we opted for the 'Gaeng Tay Po' Red Curry, a signature dish featuring Rosa’s rich red curry paste, crunchy morning glory greens, tamarind, fragrant basil, and fresh chillies. While the chicken and egg-fried rice accompaniment looked promising, I found the flavours slightly underwhelming. The 'Pad Kra Prow' Chilli & Basil Stir Fry, however, was a triumph. This spicy and fragrant classic, served with jasmine rice, a crispy fried egg, and prik nam pla dip, delivered bold flavours and left a lasting impression.

Dessert options were limited that evening as the Mango Sticky Rice and Brownie were unavailable. We settled for the churros, which were decent but didn’t quite match the vibrancy of the rest of the meal.

My friend’s Lychee Ginger Spritz cocktail, however, was a highlight. They raved about its refreshing blend of sweetness and spice—a definite recommendation for cocktail enthusiasts.

Rosa’s also offers an enticing Evening Set Menu, perfect for a solo indulgence or pre-theatre dinner. Priced at £20, it includes a starter, a main, and a drink, with classic Thai options like spring rolls, green curry, and Pad Thai to choose from. Available from 5 pm on Sundays to Thursdays, it’s worth exploring (check their website for participating locations).

Overall, Rosa’s Thai in Wimbledon delivered a pleasant dining experience, blending authentic Thai flavours with a cosy setting. While some dishes could use a bit more zest, the friendly service and standout starters made it an evening to remember.

Overall: ★★★★☆

First visit to the Wimbledon location of this small Thai chain. In my opinion it’s probably the best Thai restaurant group out there. It’s consistently good and always reliable. The food tastes fresh, is full of flavour and the menu features all the classics you’d expect. The price point is average compared to other similar places but there is something about Rosa’s which sets it apart from the rest. I recommend trying it if you like Thai food

Food: Thai

What I liked:

• Clean • Nice menu (and not ridiculously long) • Lovely flavours • Decent portion sizes • Food was served fairly quickly despite the place being busy. • Reasonable price point

What I didn’t like:

• Not very friendly service • Not once did anyone come to see if we were ok or needed anything else. This is what we pay a service charge for - service! It lacked here unfortunately.

Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value?...

Went for dinner, enjoyed a plate of drunken noodles with jasmine tea. The place was already quite busy and brimming with activity, but I was greeted and seated very quickly. I originally placed near a large party that were being quite, emm "expansively happy" (louuuddd), and as I was alone and wanted a bit more peace I asked if it was possible to change seat. I honestly did not know if they could, given how busy the place was already, but they absolutely did, right away! They offered me a corner spot farther away from the partying folks, where I ordered my noodles and haunted my phone whilst finishing my tea. All the servers were super friendly, food arrived promptly and steaming hot. Despite being a "small fry" party of one, I was checked on, to see if my food was ok, to see if I wanted anything else, but equally given space to enjoy the meal and not rushed to vacate. Lovely hosting, lovely food. Will return....
