Rosa's Thai Spitalfields — Restaurant in London

We had an event to go to in London and need to grab a quick dinner before hand. We were in the market for some Thai food and having looked around our closest option was Rosa’s Thai. We were sat at our table in the basement with no one else but one other table. We waited for the waitstaff to come down to take our orders for around 15 minutes. The only reason they did come down was because a woman from the other table went up stairs to ask for assistance. When they finally did, they took our and the other tables order and shortly after arrived back with our starter and the other tables entrees. By this point the basement was filling up with more people. As we ate our starter more people around us had ordered and were being served their entrees before we were. This went on for a staggering 45 minutes before we went up to talk to the wait staff about the long wait. People who had arrived after us were already leaving having finished their meals. Having being told the food would be 2 minutes three times adding an additional 15 minutes to our total wait time we were finally giving our meal. It was fine for the price. When we asked for the bill we expressed our frustration for seemingly being forgotten for over 30 minutes and then waitress, who we presume was the manager, was completely dismissive and our complaints fell on deaf ears. She even added the service fee of over £7 to our bill. Charming Thai Café with Great Food but Disappointing Service

As a lover of Thai food and the relaxed charm of Thai café-style restaurants, this place had all the ingredients for a memorable meal. Tucked away off the beaten track, it offers a quaint and unpretentious atmosphere with authentic Thai touches — run by Thai staff, simply decorated, and seemingly full of promise.

We had a reservation for 6:00 PM and arrived to find the place almost empty, which made the lack of service all the more frustrating. Despite being seated promptly, we had to call for service three times before anyone acknowledged us. The staff seemed more interested in their downtime than in welcoming guests, which was disappointing, especially in central London, where restaurants are competing hard for diners.

When service finally arrived, the waitress was polite and the experience began to improve. Thankfully, once our order was taken, the food came out quickly — and it was very good. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly cooked with care.
