Kew’s Children’s Garden could be an absolute gem — if only it were properly maintained. Unfortunately, there’s always something broken. Whether it’s parts of the climbing structures, interactive features, or safety elements, it feels like upkeep is just not a priority. And the water play area? Let’s be honest — it’s been completely out of service for two full years. That’s the entire duration of my membership. No explanation, no visible effort to repair it, just a sad, dry zone that still gets promoted as a highlight. That’s misleading at best. For a place associated with the prestige of Kew Gardens, this kind of neglect is honestly baffling. Families pay for quality — not for constant disappointment. Step it up. The kids (and the paying adults) deserve better.

A fun, interactive space to climb, run, jump and explore everything that a plant needs to grow. Based in a natural setting the size of 40 tennis courts, children can explore all the things plants need to grow in our Children's Garden, designed for children from 2 to 12 years old. Over 100 mature trees are spread over this beautiful landscape, with hidden treasures and adventures around every corner, leading to a 4m high canopy walk wrapped around a 200-year-old oak in the heart of the Children's Garden. No pre-booking required – all visitors are welcome to come and go throughout the day until one hour before the Gardens close.

Great place to let the kids loose. Polite staff. There are limited tickets so the number of kids in the park is controlled. The garden has a number of section; Air, Sun, Water, Earth where kids can enjoy playing and learning at the same time. The wooden platform was sealled off so we could not go up. The water pumps were also closed, but had they been on; the kids would have had anamazing time. Overall a very pleasant afternoon. Btw parking at the Kew car park is £7. Its possible to get free parking on the main road
