This evening we had extremely bad experience with restaurant staff from Rustica Pizzeria. We ordered some pizza’s from UberEats and delivery time was suppose to be about an hour as it was busy. Long story short, we waited 2,5 hours, if not more, called them each hour for an update as they have their own delivery guy and it can’t be tracked on the map, they were rude for no reason even if we asked them politely. The guy that answered the phone was very aggressive and unapologetic towards us just for asking when will the order be delivered, so we decided to cancel the order as they didn’t even started to prepare it after almost 3 HOURS, the guy was extremely rude and HANG UP the phone in the middle of conversation even if he said that if we are not happy we can cancel. We have never experienced this level of rudeness. After 40 minutes delivery guy is calling us that our order is coming and he is close. We told him nicely that unfortunately we cancelled the order half an hour ago… We felt bad for him for the colleagues that he has.
We cannot believe they still sent the order after cancelling and him hanging up the phone in the middle of conversation. Just unbelievable.
My partner and I both worked in restaurants and we understand the pressure and busy times. That is one of the reasons we were understandable for the long wait, however the RUDENESS of this person was just over the line. HE DIDN’T EVEN APOLOGISE. Unfortunately we didn’t...
Read moreI was in service and felt like some pizza for lunch, so took a stroll down Broadway.
I stumbled upon Rustica Pizzeria. The reviews seemed stable, so thought I’d give them a go. A bonus was that they do a lunchtime menu!
I opted for the diavlo (I think), which is basically a margarita with salami and jalapeños. The pizza was absolutely delicious. It was cooked beautifully, from the light and thin base being both soft yet crispy, to the well cooked and cheesy toppings - they were balanced well, as it didn’t feel or taste overwhelming. The portion of the pizza was healthy; it was of real quality, too.
The establishment is quite spacious with a nice layout - an open cooking area, so you can witness the masterpiece prepared before you. The staff are pretty friendly and helpful, making recommendations and engaging with customers pleasantly.
If you are a local and like pizza, it’s a no brainer to check out Rustica Pizzeria. As much as I will be in the future, I’m more intrigued to test the...
Read morewith a friend, we were passing through the area and seeing the sign with the Italian tricolor, reading the word "rustico", we thought we'd stop and eat at least a decent pizza; immediately after entering we immediately understood the situation, seeing a completely empty room and without any sign of any type of movement; honestly I have to admit that the traditional background music of sixty years ago was really pleasant; then seeing the pizza chef (most likely also the owner) roll out the pizza, we immediately realized how much the dough was absolutely not "rustic" and, very far from the traditional one; in fact the pizza turned out to be extremely flat, very consistent and then not fresh and tasty; fortunately a long walk helped us digest this brick in the stomach, which however accompanied us for the rest of the evening until late at night !!! the restaurant is furnished in a "rustic" way, all in all it is also a bit nice with its '70s trattoria' style but, with paintings and ornaments that recall the cities of Venice and Pisa, which despite having a old habit of eating pizza for many decades now, these cities remain very far from the Neapolitan tradition of pizza !!!
