We went yesterday with a few friends to this pub and I strongly believe it was one of the worst experiences I ever had. The waiter that brought Us the food, a man, bold with glasses, was rude and giving attitude from the beginning. I told him that I did not like his attitude and he could leave everything on the table, as it was obvious that he did not want to serve us. We asked if they receive the ticket at the bar as we waited for 25 minutes for the drinks. This rude waiter came back, with the worst attitude, asking us to go to the bar and speak with his manager. After 10 minutes of standing at the bar finally gave us eye contact and said I will be you next. Meanwhile, I had to listen to the rudest conversation about us always from the same waiter but this time behind the bar. Finally comes the manager, he did ask what happened, he couldn't care less about his guest, I tried to say in a few words, without making a scene that his staff was rude. He did not apologise not even for a second, not just for politeness. After 45 minutes finally, we had the drinks on the table. Our friend came back to the table a little later because one of our friends did not feel well and he was looking after him. He noticed that his drink was not on the table. We asked for a drink and they refuse to serve their customer.
I could carry on with details and sentences and words that have been said to us, but I will not.

Read moreAn absolute disaster of experience. Not sure if this is their norm or what had happened today was a one time off. I often pass this pub on my running routes and admired its location. Today we went for lunch, Boxing Day. The pub wasn't very busy but one server trying to manage orders and drinks. Drinks are ok but food was an absolute disaster. We waited 30 mins for the starters, soup when it has finally arrived, it was rather cold. It was taken back, reheated with its garnish/green and brought back to us. The mains arrived after another 30 mins, and a few prompts to the waiter and explaining how important to keep an eye as mussels and chips cannot be reheated. To add that by then we had been in the pub for 70 mins, alas the mains yet again came cold. I had one French fries and it was terrible. Not just cold but fried in an old oil that has turned rancid. Terrible and disgusting taste. When we complained, the waiter started touching the chips with his hands as if to prove us wrong. The mussels were still behind in the kitchen. By then, it was too too much. We walked out, hungry, upset and part of our Boxing Day has already been ruined. We'll never go back. PS: Having read other reviews, it appears that it is a hit and miss. Many have had good experience and many have not. Good luck as they have lots to think about and even more to aim for a consistent...
Read moreWent here with a friend and our dogs came along too. Due to covid and lots of the places I used to visit going out of business had been a long time since had been out for Sunday lunch. I was not disappointed. Had a roast dinner nd it was really excellent, there is always usually something I am a bit disappointed about with Sunday roasts. This was not the case. The dogs were really happy and were given a treat and bowls of water. Service was excellent. Food was super hot and fresh and was an excellent price at £15 for a huge dinner that needed an extra bowl to hold the vegetables separately. I could have eaten another dinner but not because there wasn't enough food but because it was so good. My friend had the hot apple pie and vegan icecream, she said it was amazing and we had some coffee. I am booking again for this Sunday and putting on the dogs fanciest collar because she will be going with me. The staff were all so helpful and kind to both dogs and this made it an even better place to go. Being able to take the dog out for its big walk and have dinner without having to wash up means everything gets sorted. All that's left is go home and have a nap. For dog owners this is a big selling point and who wants to spend the rest of their weekend cooking and cleaning up. It means you can spend more time with your best friend on...
