Sam's Chicken East Sheen — Restaurant in London

Miles better than KFC. Sam's is a decent fricken franchise, that offers well seasoned and flavoured grub, at a fraction of the cost of some more commercially known behemoths. The East Sheen branch in particular is a very well-run establishment. It currently holds a 5 hygiene rating - so consume your nosh with confidence.

The meal: Devil's Box Meal (Maxi Burger / 3x Wings / Large fries / Drink can) - price: £6.49. Maxi burger: This is a very hearty chicken sandwich, comprised of a succulent fillet, and two nicely spiced strips. Cheese, lettuce and mayo par for the course. The strips were well coated and the spice was more than apparent. All in all, this was a maxi burger that will fill most moderately sized bellies, nevertheless despite its size, the taste is not diminished. Well done on that. Lose the cheese in this burger, it adds nothing texturally or taste wise to this burger, and is irrelevant and superfluous. 3x Wings: Satisfying. Spicy and crunchy. Greasy residue so ask for extra napkins, or bring your own. Chips: Thin, uniform fries. Freshly cooked and well-drained. The large portion was generous. Simple fries. Functional and fine.

The premises are bright and clean, with a nice sheen (in East Sheen). There are some stools to sit on facing the window.

For £6.50 this was a very-filling and well-portioned meal. Great value. The breading they use for their chicken is very well coated in spice and seasoning. It has a fulfilling flavour and crunch. KFC take note - Sam's skin is doing it right on flavour.

Visited at 21:45, felt rushed to order. They had another customer come in so I let them serve him first, to be told by the CUSTOMER can I order, as he wanted to clear out the rest of the cooked chicken for the local pub! Now feeling under pressure to make a quick decision on what we fancied we requested our first lot which was BBQ wings to be told no, won’t be doing that now tonight, only chicken that’s left is available. Pretty sure they had another hour or so service to give!! I let the eager other customer have the whole lot and walked out without buying anything. Terrible awkward experience! Please read: Just went and made an order of 15 peri per wings and 6 normal, along with 2 portions of chips. Of course, the 6 normal wings were not put in the bag... and the batch smelled horrible. Please, I suggest you to ignore the reviews that state this food is tasty, it mostly comes from unaware people that get greeted with a smile and asked how their day was. They can taste nice simply because of how salty they are and the fact that they got the cooking recipe somewhat alright.
