So I attended this awful place on Saturday. Was greeted by a female member who came up with the idea to seat my family of 5 outside, when the seating was put together, it was barely enough space for a group of 4 let alone 5. The table was the actual size of a child’s school desk and they thought this was appropriate. After complaining that this wouldn’t be appropriate for us to have food on this table, they let us know to wait 10 minutes more they’ll have a table aswell as posing the idea that it’s our fault as we accepted the seating outside. Why would you seat anyone outside if you don’t actually have the space? Went inside and was faced with the same situation. They put together two small tables for a family of 5 grown adults. One of the waitresses who came to take our order jokingly said don’t know where you’re gonna put all that food as even she could see the seating we were given was not appropriate considering the number of people. We were then served by a white male individual who was VERY rude might even be the manager which explains why our experience was so bad. I refer to him as a white male individual as he refused to give his name and clearly felt like he could get away with this. He said to one of my family members ‘are you telling me how to do my job’ in a threatening way and walked off. Me and my family then decided you know what they’ve treated us ridiculously from the moment we’ve entered we’re not now going to tolerate rudeness and decided to leave. As we left I went to the man who was rude and I expressed to him you don’t speak to people like that and how dare you be so rude. He then said the same thing to me of ‘ are you telling me how to do my job’ which had no relevance to what I was saying so clearly this is how this individual likes to address problems in the restaurant when customers are complaining, he likes to say ‘are you telling me how to do my job’ absolutely ridiculous. If you are a family please do not go here they have no consideration or customer service skills. They also avoid eye contact when knowing customers are upset or in need which just once again shows what they are most concerned about. I have never in my life been treated so badly and been to an establishment that does not care how they treat people because they’re the managers. Completely ruined my...

Dear Scarlet Restaurant Management (O2 Branch),

I hope you are well. I am writing to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to your restaurant located at The O2, Peninsula Square, on 2nd August 2025 at approximately 18:42.

I dined with a guest and we ordered Chicken Pad Thai. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations in several ways, and I believe it is important to bring these matters to your attention for the sake of improving your customer service. Concerns About Kitchen Hygiene: While observing the kitchen area, I noticed something that appeared to fall from our side into the kitchen. What concerned me was that it seemed to be picked up and placed back into one of our dishes. While I cannot be completely certain, this gave a very unpleasant impression from a hygiene standpoint. Delay in Serving Food: Our food was ready and left sitting on the counter for more than a few minutes before being brought to us. I eventually had to approach a staff member to inform them that our meal was getting cold before it was finally served. Portion Size and Quality vs. Price: The portion size was quite small and did not reflect the price at all. Moreover, although we ordered the same dish twice, the two portions were visibly inconsistent — one had onions and vegetables, while the other did not. Presentation was also noticeably poor. Dirty Table and Lack of Basic Utensils: Our table was not clean, and we were not given chopsticks or even napkins. We had to take cutlery and tissues from a nearby table ourselves.

As a customer — and someone with a marketing background — I believe that such inconsistencies and lack of attention can severely harm the reputation of your restaurant. From my point of view, these issues reflect a lack of proper management oversight rather than shortcomings of individual staff members.

I hope this feedback is received in a constructive manner and leads to improvements in hygiene, consistency of portion sizes, customer service, and overall attention to detail.

Thank you for your time and...

I recently had a disappointing experience at a restaurant where I encountered both small food portions and slow service. My friends and I waited for half an hour for a simple beer, and to make matters worse, the manager took our order without even offering an apology for the delay.

To begin with, the food portions were surprisingly small. We were expecting to have a satisfying meal, but instead we were left feeling unsatisfied and even a bit hungry. The prices on the menu were not cheap, so we were disappointed to receive such small portions.

But the biggest issue was the slow service. It took us half an hour just to get a beer, and we had to constantly flag down the waitstaff to check on our food order. The manager seemed more concerned with getting our table back than providing us with good service. It was clear that they were understaffed and not able to handle the number of customers they had that night.

What made the experience even worse was when we overheard one of the staff members making sarcastic comments about our table. It was completely unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable. It seemed like they were more focused on gossiping about us rather than providing good service.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The combination of small food portions and slow service left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but the lack of apology and the sarcastic comments from the staff were unacceptable. I will not be returning to this restaurant and I would not...

Today, I visited an Indian restaurant and had a fun experience with some hits and misses. Here's my take on it: Let's start with the good news - the Samosa chaat was simply scrumptious! I gobbled it up in no time and wanted more. It was a perfect balance of spicy and savory, and the crunch from the samosa added an excellent texture. If only the rest of the meal was as good as this! Next up, the Chickpea chaat had a decent flavor, but it lacked enough sauce. I was looking for that tangy kick to bring the whole dish together, but sadly, it fell short. It's like they were holding back on the sauce like it was some rare commodity that they didn't want to waste. C'mon guys, sauce it up! Moving on to the main course - I had high hopes for the Spicy paneer, but it was a bit of a letdown. £16 for a small portion of paneer felt like a bit of a rip-off. But wait, there's more! The Masala tea was delicious! It was the perfect way to end the meal on a high note. It had all the spices and warmth that you want from a Masala tea, and it was a great way to wash down the previous disappointments. Lastly, the service was quick, which was appreciated. I didn't have to wait too long for my food, and the staff was polite and attentive. Overall, I would rate this restaurant a 3.5/5. The Samosa chaat and Masala tea were excellent, but the Chickpea chaat and Spicy paneer were lacking. If they amp up the sauce and paneer game, they could easily score a higher rating

Me and my big family group of 14 of visited recently for Eid dinner / Niece's birthday. Was nice and easy to reserve a table for us, even though the restaurant itself only covers about 30 diners. The food itself was absolutely delicious. All of my family shared each others dishes for tasting and they all loved it. That is saying something, as these are tough Bengali's who are very fussy about their curries! Piping hot food and very fresh ingredients. You can even see the chefs behind a glass wall kitchen as they prepare your meal. The service was also exemplary. The manager Roxy was an absolute star and took care of us from beginning to end. She was excellent with her recommendations about the food. Answered all our questions. Was very patient dealing with all of us and our requests. Roxy made sure to bring out my nieces birthday cake with perfectly placed candles lit and a music track playing in the restaurant. She also made sure to round up all her staff to join her in bringing out the cake and singing. Even the fact that we were given dessert plates and cutlery with our cake was a nice touch. A lovely little gem of a restaurant. Not super pretentious. Simple formula of good food, nice setting and well mannered and helpful staff. Thank you Scartlet Rasoi for a nice evening. Will definitely be back!!
