I could have done it better, at home!! Went with family visiting London on 6th December 2022 at lunch time, checked the whole menu and decided to order some sharing platters. At the till, the waitress informed us that they had no sharers available. Thanks for the (late) notice! Changed the order. Decided to go for a Chicken and Bacon sandwich £7.29 which stated "SLICED chicken, smoked STREAKY bacon". Instead I received two sad slices of brown bread taken from the bag, spread with a mixture of chicken, bacon and mayo and onions. No mentions of onion was made on the menu. Asked the waitress who confirmed that that was my order. Informed the waiter at the end who shrugged his shoulders without interest. Never again! UPDATE: despite my efforts to contact the owner, as requested in the reply to my review, no one ever answered the phone. Very disappointing

Nice pub at a nice location. The food and the house beer need some improvement though. I ordered nachos but it wasn’t close to being a proper nachos plate. There was no guacamole, instead it was big chunks of avocado. Salsa tasted wrong. Cheese wasn’t enough. The spicy flavour was from chips itself not the pepper - there was no pepper. Smashed potatoes could be better with a different presentation. Fries were ok. BLT was ok, nothing special though. That applies to the house beer as well. The atmosphere is good. It makes you thirsty :) The staff is friendly but for some reason some seemed in between rush and panic. I have also seen an apparently senior server roasting another server quietly but in the middle of the tables. This was not nice. They show PL games and F1 races which is great. Thanks!

First time for me at a Pub here in the UK. Nobody greets you unless you go past the Bar. They don't have any signs..that I saw..that lets you know you have to order at the bar....for everything.... The priority is not service, nor the best food. The mushroom pie was dry..needed gravy..was not offered nor suggested...hence lack of service..person that took the order had trouble finding this particular dish on their computer system. Women's washroom was dirty..and needs maintenance..one toilet was continuously running water into the water bowel....to the owner..do you pay for your water service??? Some kind of white powder on the floor by one bathroom stall???? Another door latch was broken..is it possible the staff and owner are hoping all customers will be too wasted to notice all this..??? Well I did!

Refused entry at the door, reason; "you look too intoxicated"

Tonight after a long day of work doing 15 hours of a 12 hour shift, I happened to be passing by. Walking past I decided to go back and go in for dinner. I decided to look at the menu even though I pretty much always get either the fish and chips or the breaded scampi when here.

I then opened the door and was told instantly by the bouncer "sorry you can't come in you're too intoxicated". I was surprised by this, given the only thing he saw of me at most when I was standing outside were my Chino trousers while I was looking at the menu outside.

I asked how, and said what my job was and that drinking on shift was an instant suspension, and that I didn't have time to drink considering I'd left work no more than 20 minutes prior. To which the bouncer told me that didn't matter.

Tired, hungry and not looking for an argument after a long day, and given that the bouncer was calm and not confrontational which is rare, having worked with them in hospitality and having dealt with them numerous times in my current job, I decided to just let it be.

Having been to this pub several times in the past, with friends, colleagues and/or family visiting from home, and also having recommended it to said friends and colleagues. I regard this place highly because of it's decent quality food, at a pretty decent price given its location smack bang in the middle of central London

I hate to let one single person ruin such a great place, but sadly after tonight, I'll strongly reconsider going in the next...

Hmmm, got my brand new phone stolen here… there was a woman came into the pub and walked around pretending begging for food. Nobody from the pub to stop her and even asked her to leave. This pub is where anyone can just walk in and no receptionist no checking in at all, which is very unsafe and open to criminals. The woman came to us begging with a paper saying she doesn’t speak English and really needs help. It was a cold raining day and my uncle and I were actually going to give her some food from our plates! Then she just covered my phone on table by that paper and stole it away. We realized the situation like 5 minutes later, but everything was too late. She’s long gone and my old Apple Watch cannot track my phone turned off. I was sitting right next to the CCTV but the pub said they can only show the footage to the police, then after half hour call with the police who said they are not even going to send staff here because it’s common theft in London and they are very sorry about what happened… I won’t be able to see the CCTV footage and it’s a dead end. And then that’s it. My phone just got stolen for nothing. All my vital documents and information and bank accounts were gone, for nothing. From the pub to the police, no one actually stand up and stop criminals. The suspect just committed the crimes and walked away freely. Such a disappointment. Still couldn’t believe this whole thing just happened at this pub...

We looked into this place as we wanted familur pub grub on a trip from Liverpool to London. As we had 2 children with us we checked if they do a kids menu and It said it does. It was very quiet despite the area being really busy. Very surprised when we arrived to be told they don't do kids food. I told them we'd checked on line, only for a young man behind the bar to say "yeah, well that's wrong!" They'll have to have an adult meal. We had walked a long way so had to go with it as the kids needed food. Each meal was about £16 each I ordered pie chips and peas. Kids and friend had the burger and chips. All meals where Luke warm at best. The pie and chips especially where frankly cold. On any other occasion we'd have complained but we had waited almost an hour to get it. No staff brought us cutlery or came to ask how the meal was, so we just ate it. 2 diet cokes was £9.10! Over all I felt this was a bit of a tourist trap. Bad cold food, very poor service and poor staff attitude. Hope others don't fall for this as there are plenty of traditional pubs in the area offering similar priced food. I usually hone in on a green king as they are generally good, this was the worst...
