In my opinion, this restaurant chain is nothing more than a tourist trap. The establishment is beautifully designed—the décor instantly transports you to Paris, and you can tell that a lot of effort went into the interior design. The display of cakes and desserts is impressive, though I didn’t try any of them, so I can’t comment further on those.
We ordered the garden breakfast and full english breakfast, and both dishes were a disappointment. I’ve never had such a lackluster avocado toast in a restaurant before. The avocado slices were overly thick and simply thrown on the toast, and to top it all off, a lemon was just squeezed over the entire dish. Underneath the avocado, there was a piece of halloumi cheese that was well-seared. The tomatoes were a pale, almost light red—far from the vibrant red they should be—and the bread slices were too thick as well, making the whole dish feel carelessly assembled. Additionally, the photos on the menu looked enticing, but they did not match what was actually served. The only saving grace was the hash brown, which tasted relatively okay.
We also tried a matcha latte with strawberries and a coffee latte. The coffee latte was far too bitter, definitely needing extra sugar, while the matcha latte was equally disappointing. The strawberry component turned out to be nothing more than pure strawberry jam, and the matcha itself lacked the vibrant, almost toxic green color you’d expect—instead, it was a pastel light green, and the flavor fell flat.
I unfortunately forgot to take any photos at the time—I simply didn’t think of it in the moment.
Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Compared to the other restaurants and cafés in the area, it simply cannot hold up to the truly good ones around, making it a poor choice for a dining experience. If you do decide to visit, you might consider trying one of the desserts from the enticing display or opting for a cup of tea, as those choices seem to be...
Read moreTotally not worth, the service was terrible, food quality was very low in accordance with the price and above all they charge automatically 12,5% service costs above the bill.
First of all: My boyfriend and I got a table in the middle of the restaurant which was lined up with the front door. So everytime someone came in, they had to walk past us, which was very annoying because of the little distance, there was between our table and the table next to it. The door was also open, so there was a cold draft all the time. So I asked for a new table and the waiter told me that, that was not possible, because there were only tables left for 3 or 4 persons. That was weird, because I saw other couples (2 persons) sitting at a table of 4 as well... That is kinda weird...?
Second of all: We had to wait at least 25 minutes for our food. It was then served without any sauce (We had fries, burgers and a sandwich). So we had to ask for sauce.
Third of all: The quality of the food was very poor. The fries were dry and soaky and so was the sandwich. And the cutlery was not polished clean at all. You wouldn't expect this from such a fancy looking restaurant.
Furthermore, the service. The waiters were very impolite and did not look happy at all, we really got the feeling they didn't want us there and that they wanted us to pay as quickly as possible and leave. In the conversations we had with them they were responding very short and hackneyed. They never came by asking 'how the food was' or 'if we liked it' etc. We had to ask the waiters always ourselves
And on top of that at hey made us pay 12.5% service charge even though we didn't wanted to do that at all!
To conclude, this was our first time and last time eating here. Totally not worth your money. Only go here if you want to pay way too much for super low quality food and really terrible...
Read moreMe and my friend walked into caffe concerto to treat ourselves to a bit of a high end experience. We were definitely not expecting low prices as the exterior of the place looked very lovely and inviting and at the time I didn't know it was a chain. We checked the prices of the cakes just to make sure it wasn't fully out of our budget and they seemed quite worth it.
We were seated by a waitress who I couldn't really hear personally and the whole service was just a bit less than what I would've expected from a place like this.
We ordered a matcha latte because on the menu it looked very inviting. It had a pink sprinkle on it and the matcha seemed vibrant. Compared to this. We got a cup of warm milk with some unmixed matcha bits at the bottom. And obviously no sprinkle. And if that wasn't enough the plate was also a bit stained and, just not very inviting. The pistachio honey cake felt a little stale and sadly tasted like whipped cream between cake layers. Maybe I'm just used to better cakes but I would probably be pretty sad with it even for half the price.
I saw some of the cakes on other guests' plates and I felt a bit discouraged to get them as most of them were left half eaten so I decided to get a croissant. That can't be bad right? Well. The top was burnt and the layers were not too well done in some parts but I can let that go.
What I can't on the other hand is the fact that when I mentioned this to staff after I paid, I got shot down with a "we could've changed it if you said early enough." I'm usually not the one to complain and I eat what's in front of me as I'm trying to be a little cautious towards food waste so it doesn't usually cross my mind.
So for some warm milk with bits, a burnt croissant and a whipped cream cake we paid 18£. Which would've been completely worth it if the quality was up to par with the...
