Drinks are decent, albeit on the expensive side. The pub also has a rustic and cozy vibe, which is nice. However, my friends and I were appalled by the behaviour of one of the servers when we dropped by for a drink yesterday. There weren't any free tables, so we had our drinks standing - a widely acceptable practice in pubs. We were mindful to ensure there was walkway space for customers and staff to navigate around the pub and behind the bar. This was appreciated by the other workers, but one of the servers (a petite woman with dark hair) was completely unprofessional and aggressive in her conduct. She pushed me from behind, pretending she didn't have enough space to pass through. I knew I had left sufficient space for people to walk through, and my friends had seen that her pushing me was intentional, despite her feigning innocence. I didn't say anything. No more than ten minutes later, she had pushed my friend with a bin! She poorly attempted to play innocent again, but my other friends and I saw that she had pushed my friend on purpose. On both occasions, she did not try to ask us to move out of the way before pushing us. Regardless, there is no excuse for shoving customers like that.
I should reiterate the other workers had no major issues moving around us; there was only one or two occasions we were slightly blocking the way, to which we quickly apologised and swifly moved out the way. Sadly, the impolite worker's actions tainted our experience; people like her should be nowhere near the...
Read moreLooks like someone else had a similar experience of being blatantly ignored by staff. Fair enough we arrived during a busy period and had to sit upstairs and bar/restaurant downstairs and outside was full. Upstairs was pretty quiet, only a few tables sat with food/drinks. Completely ignored by the bartender, yes he was in the middle of things but seemed as he was only able to serve one table at a time (very inefficient and not logical). I thought I might need to order at the bar, possibly giving him a little less to do as it saves him coming out twice. Iâm stood like clearly invisible to him and then after about 5 minutes, without even looking at me, he says âIâm coming to you nextâ. I go back to my table and wait.. Where he then doesnât actually come to me next but goes and takes the order of another table (who also seemed to be waiting for an unnecessarily long time). Weâd been there about 20 minutes and no service, sorry but if you donât have time for us we donât have time for you, Iâll happily take my business elsewhere. Overall, terrible service and rude staff. Shouldnât have even bothered giving it a try when reading other reviews about...
Read moreDid not look anything like this. We visited before going to the matinee of Jersey Boys at the Trafalgar Theatre which was just across the road. Most tables were reserved for the lunch time trade I presume so all tables in the light airy front were taken. We were sat at the back much darker more cramped. I ordered fish pie and my friend Ndjua( spicy) mac and cheese. Neither of us were impressed with the food. Service was good - friendly and smiley but the food was terrible!! It was obvious both had been frozen. My fish pie had more salmon than any other fish that was described to be in the pie. It was also quite small. The Langoustine that came on top they might as well not have bothered to put on. It was tiny, the meat inside it was about the size of my thumbnail and watery. Certainly not worth the money!! I actually commented at the till about both my comments above. I was just looked at - đ No - 'Sorry Madam it wasn't to your taste' or an offer of any recompensation. Some might say well it was pub food! Believe me I have eaten pub food that could have been given a Michelin Star- no excuse. Will not be...
