I have been here twice now. such a great place. bar staff so friendly decent cocktails/drinks. Both times I booked a table with party package and spent three or four times more when we were inside. lets get to why I gave two stars. yes it's the door staff. it was the second time there was this lady outside( Albanian she said) with the clipboard acting all calm but was very rude and not helpful. she classed my friend as drunk when he asked if they(group of 4) can go in before the rest of us arrived. from then on the conversation was how him his girl friend and the other two girls with them were drunk and had to sober up for her to consider. occasionally a bouncer came in between and tried to tell me I can find another place. I kept still and asked to see the manager . James (if i remember ) was very helpful had a chat( don't know if he was playing good cop) and finally let us in. The group of friends who were there earlier just left home as it ruined the whole evening for them . I had already paid for the table and it was my best friends birthday ( who arrived late ) so didn't want to let him down so i stayed despite the disgust. even after we were in I could see the same bouncer coming towards us and acting stupid so we started to stay upstairs most of the night. we aren't teenagers and we know the bouncers will play we are drunk card if we escalate the issue so thought I'll write a review instead .
Bar staff upstairs did take care of us very well so we tipped them 50 quid before we left. I can't remember their names since this was back in February 2016 . all in all such a lovely club in a lovely place just have some bad rude impolite doormen and lady who looks down at you. If you have to go through this to get into a bar\club I'll stick to leicester square like in the past. I will never recommend this place to anyone nor will return. last thing you need is to meet someone with not at all classy behaviour who treat you like a bunch of kids when you are out to celebrate...
Read moreOne of the worst meals I've had in a very long time. They have associated with Rack City and they are (trying) serving their food. The day we visited the menu was reduced to only 3 items. We ordered all 3 of them. After a long wait we got the chicken wings which were excellent. The sauce was amazing. This made us believe we were going to have a great meal. We could not have been more wrong. We waited for a long time. No food. They told us they were having problems because there was a big group on another floor and they could not cope with it (I went upstairs and there were no more than 15 people). Eventually we got 1 rack of ribs (of the 2 we had ordered). They were tough. Not tender at all. Meat was not falling off the bone. When we mentioned this the answer was "this is the way our chef likes them". The ribs were supposed to come with hash browns and cole slaw. None of them made it to the table. We were told the 2nd rack was coming soon. We waited and waited. The chef came to talk to us to say he could only give us half a rack and that it was going to be on the house. We kept waiting. Eventually we go the half rack, again dry and again with no hash browns or cole slaw. The 3rd dish we ordered was brisket loaded fries. Once again we had to wait, different staff kept giving us different excuses contradicting each other. Eventually we got the fries which were room temperature and the brisket was fridge cold. We sent them back immediately. More waiting. More excuses. More lies. The chef came back to talk to us. He blamed someone else in the kitchen for sending us cold fries. Nobody assumed any mistake. They were only serving 3 dishes and they could not cope with that. It was a disaster. Don't want to imagine what's going to happen if they ever attempt to serve the whole menu. Of course we refused to pay...
Read moreI'm a big fan of Zebrano Soho. A destination business, on the iconic Greek Street, for the best part of the 21st century, Zebrano is somewhere you can always expect a warm welcome and enjoyable visit!
So to finally be able to sit outside that famous facade and enjoy drinks in the sunshine recently was a veritable treat. The owner, Don Cameron, is a true gent, and, for so many have gotten to know him over the years, he is Soho royalty. His generous and friendly nature permeates the business and is embodied by his staff.
Two years ago, I became a vegan and so was absolutely delighted to see a few (VG) choices on their food menu yesterday. Honestly, I had not long ago eaten quite a filling lunch but when in Rome etc... So, I ordered the vegan pizza. What happened next took me totally by surprise.
Now, I've known that Zebrano has always offered good food to its customers - generous, flavourful excellently priced but I was not hugely optimistic about them doing plant based plates! I was SO wrong. This pizza was utterly delicious. I mean over these last two years I've had my fair share of decent vegan pizza but I have rarely had one that tasted better. Spiced tofu, vegan cheese, jalapeños, spring onions and a rich tomato sauce were excellently combined on this freshly made pizza by the chefs in the kitchen and I was blown away. The whole thing was demolished, probably way too quickly and I then just babbled for about 20 minutes about how good it was to anyone who'd listen.
I literally can't wait to go back eat another one but probably only after I've tried their vegan burger!! So, in case you missed it I'm giving Zebrano Soho two thumbs up and my most hearty congratulations to Don and his team for continuing to bring great service and enjoyment to all his...
