Very disappointed with the door staff attitude. We visited this bar after the Liverpool Chelsea game. My friends Son was playing with his sister and put her in a gently jovial headlock for 2 seconds. A door man correctly came over to check everything was ok. We were all laughing and explained it was just playful fun between siblings. It was all smiles and there was absolutely no issue or trouble. The doorman however insisted that the son be evicted from the bar. We were shocked by the doormans aggressive attitude however we obliged and he waited outside in the rain whilst the rest of us finished our drinks (that also cost ÂŁ10 each with a ÂŁ2 increase after 6pm). After an hour in the rain the doorman admitted he had made a judgment error but at this point the young lad was cold and wet and we were all leaving. I know the doormen sometimes have a tough job but this blinkered aggressive attitude is unacceptable. The doorman was also charging a ÂŁ20 entrance fee. It was a shame because the atmosphere in the bar was good and the bar staff were friendly. We will find a different...
Read moreAvoid at all costs. Extremely overpriced drinks - a warm pint in a dirty plastic cup for ÂŁ8! The whole bar was extremely run down and absolutely filthy, especially the toilets. In one stall, both the toilet seat and floor were covered in wee and in the other, the toilet seat was broken in two. There was also a drunk man in the womenâs toilets, however, there was no security guards around to help us as they were too busy telling people 13 minutes into the match that they would have to pay ÂŁ50 each to stay and watch the rest. There was no mention of any cost when we arrived 3 hours before the match (and spent well over ÂŁ100 in that time). One man said he would leave no problem and asked for 5 minutes to finish the drink they had just sold him and he was threatened with the police. Six bouncers got in his face and were shouting at him and acting very threatening. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere - aggressive staff and filthy bar. Whatâs...
Read moreI recently visited this bar to watch the FA Cup semi-final and unfortunately had a very poor experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, every person in the small queue (literally 3 people which were pushed up against the wall) âwomen includedâwas aggressively manhandled by the bouncers. They seemed to be looking for any excuse to escalate the situation, possibly to deny entry or provoke some sort of confrontation.
Once inside, youâre led through a bar where drinks are outrageously priced at ÂŁ9 a pint. The quality didnât match the costâmy beer was flat with no head, and tasted poor. When I asked the bartender about it, he admitted he had never poured drinks before and wasnât sure what to do.
The courtyard area was oddly silent with no music, which didnât help the already lackluster atmosphere (until it filled with fans). Overall, the experience was unwelcoming, overpriced, and poorly managed. I wonât be returning and canât recommend...
