Me and my friend popped in for a quick pint after visiting some shops in Bromley with both our 4 year old daughters. After ordering and paying for 2 pints and some fruit juices the girls wanted a bag of crisps so I went to the bar and asked the barmaid for some and received an extremely unfriendly look as she walked away. The barman went off to get the crisps and handed them to me. I took out a £5 note from my wallet as the barmaid approached so I could pay. I received another very rude glance and a muttering of we don't have any change whilst checking the till and then told me they do not accept cash. I politely explained how I want to pay with cash and if cash is not accepted on the premises this should be made clear when ordering and that its unlawful to refuse legal tender. The barmaid preceded to tell me with disdain that its her choice and that she would not accept cash. I reluctantly but calmly took out my debit card as the barmaid then took the crisps out of my hand and refused to serve me and that I could complain to the manager. I again calmly explained that it is not lawful as both her and the barman laughed at me. I explained the crisps were for the girls but was again refused service. My friend then tried to purchase the crisps and was also refused as he was with me. I made a point of saying that is absolutely disgusting. We finished our drinks and left. I have never been refused service in my life or been treated so badly. What an...

Great range of beers, with some rare Belgian ones. A 7% lambiek was an interesting experience though one I will not repeat. Does not match up to the Bellevue or Becasse variety, even though these are obviously the more commercially known varieties. The Boon Geuze was far too wild for me, and an uneducated palate may have returned the beer in an unsubtle and diced emitic guise. Frankly the bartender was not that friendly, perhaps she did not like my attempts at explaining that I knew a little about the beer I was drinking, although if she is the owner I would say this has potential, and I would be open to a new start. The regular draught Hophead however was extremely tasty. This could so easily be a 5 but the bartender marked it down for me. People have their off nights I guess, or set off on...

Such a characterful building both Inside and out, decorative mirrors adorn the sides of the entrance. It's a large roomy space inside with lots of brewery artwork hanging on the walls. The bar itself looks clean and functional . Anyway on to the important stuff, their beer selection at the time of my visit was absolutely superb. A staggering range of keg cask bottle and can. It's almost a good enough reason to think about moving here. The pub benefits from a quaint but perfectly functional outdoor space with benches. I immediately felt welcome and comfortable, I can see this being a great place to escape to on a busy shopping day. A true gem in Bromley. I really can't recommend this place highly enough and I'll be returning as...

Thought I'd post a quick update to my 4 year old review below. Every bit as fantastic as it was 4 years ago! 6 casks on plus numerous kegs! Prices obviously have gone up. Just the way it is now unfortunately. Still fairly priced though. Lovely pub! Recommended for serious ale and beer lovers! Original review:- Good god! How did i miss this pub. Popped in this afternoon and sampled two excellent cask ales (about 7 on, all at £3 each!). Fantastic range on keg as well if thats your thing, all of varying strength and price. No food though. The place is spotless as well. Well worth a visit for serious beer drinkers. Recommended.

This is a really nice venue which has been refurbished with a modern feel with some really good original features. It does lack cosiness about it but at the same time as its still being worked on and looks a little incomplete but it has great potential. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable on the products which is good when you are selling a variety of beers away from the commercial norm. The craft beers on tap are plentiful and so are the bottles in the fridge but slightly hidden away. I'll definitely be back again and hope to change this to a 5 star rating over time.

This is a very nice pub with a great selection of drinks on tap, like a VERY wide selection. Thankfully, if you're not into your craft ales and ciders then they usually have 1 nice lager on tap, think it's Pilsner Urquell. They also have quite an impressive selection of spirits. They also do takeaway drinks. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The place is usually very warm (physically). They have a small beer garden to the rear of the pub. The place is very clean, comfortable and usually quiet if you fancy a chat.
