This has to be one of the most comically bad dining experiences I've had in 20+ years of eating out in London. It's hard to summarise in a short review, but the 'highlight' was when the waiter sent a dish of truffle and mushroom gnocchi flying, covering my jacket in a pungent and oily sauce (some of our shoes and bags were also sprayed). Now, accidents happen, and he was apologetic. But the dry kitchen towel provided to mop up with wasn't very helpful, and we weren't offered any drinks or money off the bill at this stage – just a vague promise that they would 'wash the jacket'. We tried to enjoy the rest of the meal as best we could, but the pasta dishes had gone cold while we were trying to clear up the mess. The dining area is on top of a street-food stall, and while it is covered and has one small electric heater, it is draughty and not suitable for winter – the food gets cold (and the red wine is served too cold). What's more, the steps up are very narrow, and slippery when wet, and there isn't anywhere for the waiter to serve the food from (an accident waiting to happen). When dessert was served, we were told we had four minutes in which to eat it, as the next guests had arrived – so we didn't have time to try that. But the most disappointing part was the attitude of the manager/chef when we came to pay. He seemed to think we shouldn't have been complaining about the spillage, as it was making the waiter feel bad, then apologised passive aggressively and said something along the lines of 'there's not much I can do about it'. After we pointed out that the jacket was most likely ruined due to the oil content of the food ('of course it has oil in it'), and the cost of trying to have it cleaned, he did agree to take money off the bill. But it was all conducted in a rude, aggressive way. We needed a drink in the brewery next door afterwards to recover...
Read moreVery affordable yet delicious meal in an intimate setting. The service was great, however I think the restaurant could have been more communicative in the build-up.
I think Sugo82 came in to replace Stuffed Ldn. The service, starters and desserts are better at Sugo82, however the communication and menu management was better when this was Stuffed Ldn. We weren’t sent the set menu in advance, so I emailed to ask for it as we have a lactose intolerant person. This got shut down and they decided for us which dishes they’d swap on the day. This meant we missed out on the carbonara and some more cheesy starters as a group. Stuffed on the other hand had sent the menu in advance and allowed us to feedback on the dishes we wanted to alter. Would still return here...
Read moreWe finally made it to Sugo 82 for our anniversary, and it was well worth the wait! The dining experience was wonderfully intimate—just my partner and me, enjoying a perfect evening. The host was amazing—attentive and accommodating without being too pushy, making us feel truly welcomed. We had a set meal, and every dish was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and reminiscent of our time in Sicily. The quality of the food, combined with the warm atmosphere, made for a truly memorable night. Incredible value for money, too! Highly recommend for a special occasion or a cozy...
