If you’re looking for authentic Turkish flavors and a true feast for the senses, Taksim Restaurant is the place to be.

We went to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. We ordered a mixed grill platter and it was absolutely outstanding, lamb chops, chicken, kebabs, and doner meat, all perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. The meats were juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, served alongside rice, roasted vegetables, and fresh tomatoes. The portion size was extremely generous, perfect for sharing on a special occasion.

The atmosphere was warm and lively, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and celebrations. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. To make the evening even more memorable, they surprised us with baklava, Turkish tea, and Turkish delights on the house. They even brought out a birthday dessert with a candle and sang the Turkish version of “Happy Birthday,” which was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture.

This was my second time at Taksim Restaurant, and once again, it did not disappoint. We kicked things off with a plate of creamy hummus, soft warm bread, and crispy fried halloumi. The hummus was rich and smooth, the bread freshly baked, and the halloumi had the perfect balance of saltiness and crispiness.

For the main course, I went for the mixed grill, featuring a selection of beautifully charred skewers—lamb, chicken, and beef. Each piece was tender, juicy, and packed with a smoky, grilled flavour that only comes from being cooked over an open flame. The rice and grilled vegetables on the side were the perfect accompaniment, making the whole dish feel well-rounded and satisfying.

We ended the meal with a refreshing Turkish delight and a cup of strong tea, which was a lovely end to the experience. The service was as friendly as ever, and the atmosphere made it an enjoyable evening out.
