When you move to a new area it expands your horizons and gives you the bug to go out exploring and as I'm so close to Greenwich now it would be rude not to scope out some backstreet boozers. The @ashburnham_arms is 5 minute stroll from the hustle and bustle of the market step back on a quiet road which adds to the charm of the pub and gives it a relaxing atmosphere. If you’re after a spot that is a away from the usually weekend madness of Greenwich, keep the Ashburnham Arms in your back pocket as a little treat. PS The Sunday roast is YUMMY!

Lovely local pub. Local ale with a front and large back garden seating area. (Can be reserved for private parties.) Front garden area is smaller. Very kid friendly. Based on where this is located you will find many locals here. It's located on the same street of the famous authors home Edgar Wallace. (Be sure to have a look 10 house up) nice plaque. Didn't get a chance to try food as kitchen was closing to be reopened again later. Menu looks nice.. It's a proper local family run pub. Will visit again.....

A most pleasant hostelry, hidden away in the depths of Greenwich ( In reality, only a couple of minutes from the train and for station on High rd). Absolutely wonderful staff with excellent service. There is a simple but fine looking menu in case you are feeling hungry. Great beer on offer. Well worth a visit, only the garden and front patio for now, still lovely as long as the weather holds!

We’ve always liked coming to the Ashburnham as it’s a lovely local pub, but we sadly won’t be coming back after an incredibly disheartening experience tonight.

Our small group was having a nice, quiet night with a few drinks — being polite with each order, and never being loud or disruptive. About 10 minutes before closing time, as we were finishing up our drinks, the manager came over to our table and said “you have 10 minutes” and walked away — okay, fine; we were getting ready to head off anyway.

One of us got up to use the toilet before leaving and on the way back that same manager was overheard saying “yeah, there’s three left over there in the corner — and they’re Irish.”

Just a completely unnecessary comment, made by someone who very clearly hates being around certain customers. It seems as though unless you’re of a particular class/race, you’re not...

Having visited this pub on several occasions, I have mixed reviews. The general staff are kind and attentive, unfortunately the owner’s attitude leaves a lot to be desired. On my first visit here, we were told abruptly near to closing time we had to leave, not receiving the usual warning you would expect. As it was such a nice bar, we gave the landlady the benefit of the doubt. On our second visit, as it came closer to midnight, we were given no warning to closing time but were wrapping up our night at the pub. As I was in the toilet, my partner heard “there’s a few in the corner, and they’re Irish”. She was very prompt in getting rid of us. I feel unless you’re of the certain clientele who live on this road you’re not particularly...

Our preferred hotel for the o2 and London Stadium is a five minute amble from the Ashburnham. We otherwise visit Greenwich several weekends per year, this is our favourite part of London with our favourite London pub. Always excellent condition ales from Shepherd Neame, superb food (exceptional Sunday Roasts - booking advised, midweek fayre is excellent too), Churchill sofas, open fire in the winter, a selection of board games available, friendly locals, front and rear beer gardens, set in a conservation area in a quiet suburban area. Nothing not...
