I really am a daft so-and-so. My partner and I love a cocktail, and have been enjoying a monthly tipple in a great establishment near Oxford Circus for over a year now. Lovely place.
And then, last week, “Ten To One” popped up on Google maps as a suggestion. “Hmmm…” surely a cocktail place 2mins walk from my front door can’t rival our spot in the west end that we’ve been travelling 45mins to get to for a year?
Well, we gave it a go.
Highlights? Many: The informal, relaxed setting. The astoundingly well crafted cocktails. The reasonable prices. The friendliness levels are OFF THE CHARTS. Sometimes you walk into a place and you JUST KNOW, like I did here, that this is the start of something you won’t want to end. Conversations with bar staff and other punters are optional, but they really added a little pixie dust to the overall evening we had.

Read moreNow that the gentrifier is gone, and it's authentically Tottenham-born owned, I like it and will come back, cocktails are good, but if I'm paying over a tenner for a Pornstar martini, I expect it to come with the garnish i.e the half passion fruit slice, please don't forget that next time, because it's not cheap. and it does make a difference when trying to review it, OR just say that you don't have the garnish so I can choose something else, rather than poncing me for a half finished cocktail.
