I’ve always loved getting food from here and been a customer for years. I eat in the place and often get home delivery. I’ve also brought many friends here over the years. I got to test out their customer service today and it was terrible.
Sadly, I encountered a problem with my order today (a dish I regularly eat). It had excess salt in it. I rang them up to let them know. I was told that the dish was fine and no one else had complained. I had asked several people at my end to taste it who also found it too salty to eat. It’s a dish I regularly order and it was 100 percent excessively salty which meant it was inedible. I’ve been ordering it for years, so was basically being told that I was lying. I offered to also bring back my takeaway if they wanted to check it. They were not interested. The situation was being attributed to the manager so I asked who the manager was. I was told they could not give me the name of the manager! Very bizarre, given I wanted to speak with them. It’s obviously top secret.
I’ve basically lost £10.95 as well as delivery charge and left having to organise dinner. I’m amazed how little they care about their customers, especially ones that supported them when they first started out. Please do not organise such events outside your restaurant where people stand for 1 hour in queue and you give your preferred friends and family hidingly. Rules have to followed by all or don't have rules at all. He asked me why are you standing when i did not even ask for food, i was just looking and he told me there is a queue, but then later he hidingly gives food to his family and that's when i caught him. Very shameful to be honest. I am not sure whether he has knowledge of catering and hospitality but as a owner, it is his responsibility to make sure every item in the buffet is being available and replaced as soon as it's over. Sadly i did not get to eat everything, items missing and all he did was just stand there, as if he is doing a favour on everyone. Please learn to be a good human being first then you can proudly tell me, you are the restaurant owner. People do make mistakes but important is acknowledgement. Read moreAs locals we have eaten at Thakers many times and it's no exaggeration to say that it is one of the hidden gems of Hounslow. Every single visitor I have introduced to the place has become addicted and asks to eat at Thakers again whenever they are in the area! By now I've tried many of the menu options (the luxury of a vegetarian-friendly restaurant!) and I've never had a bad meal. My personal picks are the Dahi Puri, which are incredibly delicious with yoghurt and pomegranate seeds and the best puri I've ever had, and the heavenly Mushroom Popcorn. If I want a bigger meal, the Thali/Tiffin sets will fill me up all day. My partner uses the Bombay Sandwich as a reference for the perfect comfort food sandwich and also loves the Samosas. There's a good mix of spicy dishes and some milder options too so everyone should be able to find something which suits them.
