šŸš‡Charing Cross šŸŗĀ Ā£6.30 Amstel ā¤ļø A beautifully restored shipwreck. . The Admiralty is London's most central pub, being just 50 metres from the King Charles I statue from which all distances from the capital are measured. The nearest tube is Charing Cross. . This beautiful building was constructed in 1871 and is Grade II listed. The building started life as a NatWest bank and only became a pub in 2014, acquired by @fullers. In July 2022 the building was ravaged by fire and after an extensive renovation reopened in April this year. . This is a good size pub which is set out over three levels. The decor here is inspired by HMS Victory at the battle of Trafalgar, the murals on the walls of HMS Victory are simply stunning. To left of the impressive servery is a splendid ship’s figurehead that wouldn’t look out of place on the old warship docked today in Portsmouth. The seating is plentiful, there are lots of low level, booths and poser tables to settle in to. There are so many details here that are easy on the eye, this is such a handsome boozer. . There is an extensive range of beers, the line up included eight cask ales and fifteen keg. We decided on a couple pints of Amstel, our pints weren’t overly lively but hit the spot all the same. The food menu is hearty elevated pub classics with an emphasis on pies, Fish & Chips costs Ā£18.95. . The pub opens its doors at 9am for breakfast and starts serving alcohol from 10am. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the vibe upbeat. The crowd was predominantly day trippers and tourists with majority here for a bite to eat. We sat at a poser table and we were joined by two mature ladies from Florida who were looking for somewhere to sit, we exchanged a few pleasantries and recommended they visit the Aylesbury Estate in south London to admire the architecture, we didn’t really šŸ˜€. The service is on point and very courteous. . The @admiratylondon is undoubtedly a beautiful boozer which offers a premium pub experience. I would definitely recommend a visit here but choose your time of visit wisely, this is a very busy pub. . ā„¹ļø Info correct on...

Seriously, one of the worst restaurants experiences I’ve had (the 1 star is for the experience, not the food wait staff per se). We made reservations for 10 people for 6 pm on a Sunday—specifically to enjoy a traditional Sunday roast, and also paid by their Ā£100 booking fee. Only after they took 1.5 hours to take our order—no exaggeration—did they inform us they had run out of most of the items on the menu. No Sunday roast, no pies (chicken, steak, fish). They had the vegetarian items, grilled chicken, grilled salmon, and cheese. They should have told us when we arrived at 6 pm that they had run out of everything rather than wait 1.5 hours—when 5 adults and the 5 children with us were starving. It was comical, they let us try ordering one item after another, only to have the otherwise very nice and hardworking server tell us repeatedly, ā€œsorry, they’re out of that too.ā€ If it was so ridiculous it could have been an episode Seinfeld.

Server was kind and apologetic. The experience was the clearly restaurant management’s fault. Manager was not really apologetic; claimed somewhere in the fine print on their menu or something that they sometimes run out of food. They should have told us the moment we arrived what they were out of, or running out of a number bps the principle menu items. And they need more wait staff if they can’t even take your order for an hour and a half.

The food tasted pretty good at least. I had the best vegetarian lentil shepherd’s pie I’ve ever had—though admittedly it was also the first one I’ve ever had.

All I can say is, do not eat at this place with the expectation that you will have the meal...

I would recommend The Admiralty Pub to anyone looking for traditional British cuisine at its best. The Admiralty is part of the Fuller's Pub Group operating since 1845. This is a lovely pub situated in Trafalgar Square, opposite the National Portrait Gallery. The pub is located near the Prime Minister's Office, and from there it is only a short walk to Big Ben. The Admiralty is a wonderful combination of old world charm and modern atmosphere. The Pub offers a wide selection of drinks, including Fuller's favorites such as London Pride and ESB, as well as craft lagers such as Frontier. Fuller's ESB (Extra Special Bitter) was the CAMRA British Beer Champion in 1978, 1981 and 1985. In addition, ESB won the World Champion Beer award twice, earning it the nickname "The Champion Ale"! Admiralty might be the perfect place if you're craving a traditional Sunday roast! My Sunday roast was a truly delightful dining experience! I ordered Sirloin of Owton's beef for just £24.95. I received 3 pieces of juicy medium-rare beef with a unique roast flavor, plus a generous bouquet of vegetables, i.e. young carrots, young cabbage and cauliflower. Golden roasted potatoes were fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. There was also delicious and wonderfully puffed Yorkshire pudding. My overall dining experience at The Admiralty was truly amazing and I would recommend it to anyone looking for traditional British cuisine at its best.
