Worst Experience Ever – Brixton Wetherspoons is a Disaster!
I travelled all the way from Newcastle to London for a family day out, and we decided to stop at Brixton Wetherspoon for a quick meal – what a mistake that was! From the moment we walked in, the staff were unbelievably rude. No greeting, no smile, just attitude like we were an inconvenience.
When I asked a simple question about the menu, I was met with eye-rolls and sarcastic comments. One staff member actually muttered something under their breath as they walked off, and when I asked politely for the table to be cleaned, the response I got was: “You can wait like everyone else, alright?” – in the rudest tone possible.
It didn’t stop there. My family was made to feel completely unwelcome. It honestly felt like they went out of their way to embarrass us. Drinks took forever, food came out cold, and when I asked if it could be reheated, the staff member just said, “Not my problem, take it or leave it.” Absolutely shocking!
To top it off, I overheard some of the staff laughing and saying things about us. I couldn’t believe it – the lack of professionalism was beyond words. I have been to Wetherspoons all over the UK, and I’ve NEVER had an experience this bad. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Avoid this place at all costs. Spend your money somewhere that actually respects customers. This is the worst service in London...
Read moreWow. I mean, I love a Spoons but this is the first one I’ve been in that I’d never go to again. From Glasgow to Manchester to London this one takes the prize. Wonky tables, flat dilapidated cushions on the chairs, I had to clear my own table to sit. I could go on but the list is exhausting.
I ordered on the app at 11:49. x2 freedom breakfasts, toast and jam, orange juice and x2 coffees. The only thing they didn’t get wrong was the two empty coffee cups.
At 12:04 I had to go to the bar and check they had received the order. The drinks came at 12:07 and the food at 12:10.
The toast was more like bread with a Swedish tan and was stone cold. I guess the chef was pressed for time because of the two mushrooms on my plate, one was cooked to death and the other was just raw.
I think my favourite thing about this place is the staff are completely unapologetic about the quality of their service. I took the toast up and said “can I get hot toast please?” The short, middle aged black staff member just picked up the plate and walked off, he didn’t say a word. There only seemed to be one waitress, a young Eastern European lady. That may be why service was so slow. I will say she was lovely and was doing her best. I did speak with the manager regarding the whole service but this is an experience I would never repeat. If this was my first visit to a Wetherspoons, I’d...
Read moreDreadful pub in Brixton. Hard to believe it's part of Wetherspoon chain. Very lively clientele at 2100 on a Tues night. Drinks very reasonable, however that's where any positives cease. Pub was filthy dirty generally. Ladies toilets reeked of urine and were strewn with toilet paper. Locks on doors broken. Smell emanating from gents in same corridor was worse. I am surprised people were willing to eat at table's adjacent to these loos. Intimidating experience stepping outside doorway to smoke or vape. Approached by strangers almost immediately, requesting smokes or drinks and one male insistent in persuading me to buy some meat from M&S from a large unbranded carrier bag. Whole chicken & legs of lamb were on offer. Visiting this pub was an unsettling experience. I would not...
