I recently visited the Blue Stoops Pub, and it exceeded all my expectations! Nestled in a charming location, this pub offers a delightful blend of warm ambiance and friendly service that makes you feel right at home the moment you step inside.
The decor strikes a perfect balance between traditional and contemporary, creating a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. The seating is comfortable, making it an ideal spot for both casual hangouts and special gatherings. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed.
Now, let’s talk about the drinks! The Blue Stoops boasts an impressive selection of local ales, craft beers, and thoughtfully curated cocktails. I sampled a few options and was particularly impressed with their seasonal special—an IPA that was perfectly balanced with citrus notes. The bartender was knowledgeable and more than happy to offer recommendations based on our tastes.
As for the food, the menu is a delightful mix of classic pub favorites and creative dishes. I tried the loaded nachos and their famous burgers, both of which were bursting with flavor and served in generous portions. The quality was evident, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation.
Overall, the Blue Stoops Pub is a fantastic destination for anyone looking to enjoy great drinks, delicious food, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. I can’t wait to return for...
Read moreWe've been the past three sundays and overall its a lovely new addition to the area.
Positives - Cosy bar seating area. The food is AMAZING and great value. We had the best beef pie today - crispy pastery and loads of beef, tasty. We also love they open a vintage magnum and sell by the glass on Sundays. Love the low lighting, cool bar area and attention to detail - those tiles! The staff were attentive, good music and a nice laid back vibe.
Negatives - The small bar area seems to double up as a creche on Sundays (it also happened last week). Today we had 2 babies , 7 toddlers, 3 prams, nannies and parents. The three families treated the place like a train station - they brought in their own multi bag pack of crisps, Ski Yogurts and drank soft drinks. We counted 9 couples walk in and quickly walk back out because this lot took up 4 tables in the small bar area. Its a little offputting to the other tables who were spending quite a lot of money on food/drinks. Ideally i would love the more spacious restaurant area for kids/babies/toddlers/prams and keep the small bar area for adults. Or maybe just avoid on Sunday afternoons.
We hope the staff take a more pro active approach with these incidents as its a lovely pub, amazing food and holds so...
Read morewas super excited to try this place and think they'll be great once they get going - the menu definitely needs reworking. You can only share a roast option, which is difficult if you're dining with vegetarians, or don't like sharing foods (i love sharing food if its small plates, but a roast can be messy). Otherwise, the menu didn't feature a load of classic meat options, compared to vege and fish - a simple beef or chicken main would be ace here. The staff were lovely but can tell they're still finding their feet - we had to ask for our drink order about 5 times and then it was bought out wrong, as well as the food order, but they were very apologetic. The mash was absolutely banging, i'd come back just for that. Think it ended costing about £65 pp for a few glasses of wine, mash, bread and a bit of pasta, bit expensive as glasses were small and pasta main felt like a side. The restaurant area felt a lil segregated and could do with a bit more mood lighting or candles or something. Nice experience but would love to see a bit of variation on this menu. High hopes for the blue...
