No GF options on the menu! Do NOT go to this Breakfast Club location if you are gluten-free / coeliac.
Super disappointed - The Breakfast Club is one of my favourite brunch restaurants in London. I did not think twice about booking this morning, as I've been to four other TBC locations (Soho, Hoxton, Spitalfields, and London Bridge), and had brilliant experiences with their menu, which all provide gluten free bread and pancake dishes. This TBC, in contrast, only offered overnight oats and a small vegan dish as GF options, both of which were only served until 12pm.
I knew things weren't quite right when, upon finding out I was a coeliac, I was given a QR code to the classic online allergen menu (which is just a filterable list of allergies, not an actual easy-to-read menu). I knew things were bad when I told the waitress: "I've been to other locations before, I know what I want," and she said "you should look at the allergy menu anyways". I ended up having a medley of sides for my lunch, which was tedious to order. Our waitress was fantastic and helpful, however my food options were garbage.
I will not be coming back to this location. It is not hard to standardize offerings across locations or at least put a loaf of gluten free bread in...
Read moreI won’t be eating here again! My friend and I walked in and waited to be seated, but instead of being greeted properly, someone (who we later realised was a waiter, though he wasn’t wearing a uniform) just waved us over from across the room like we were animals.
Once seated, we were given the wrong menus—it was lunchtime, but my friend got the breakfast menu while I got the lunch menu. When our food arrived (we had both ordered the same thing—a simple cheeseburger with no drinks), they still managed to get the order wrong. How does that even happen?
Nobody checked on us during the meal, and we had to keep asking for cutlery, napkins, and sauces. It wasn’t even busy, so there was no excuse for the poor service.
To top it all off, when it was time to pay, the waitress wasn’t sure if the payment had gone through because, according to her, their WiFi service is unreliable. She actually said, "It’s okay if you go, if it doesn’t go through, there’s nothing I can do—at least you get a free meal." That’s not something any business should want their staff to say! It’s a terrible way to run a restaurant, and I certainly...
Read moreBooked to come here before getting on the Eurostar... Having done research to look for a suitable venue to cater for gluten-free, according to Google and other reviews have the best gluten-free pancakes and quite frankly I was really looking forward to them. However, when I asked for a gluten-free menu I was given a QR code that eliminated most of the menu, there were hash browns offered on the gluten free menu but on questioning they are fried in the same oil as gluten containing ingredients so not suitable. My husband and children went ahead and had some food as they were hungry. It came so quickly it was pre prepared (husband's pancakes were cold with warm sausages!) the servers were kind and looked almost embarrassed when I questioned the choices but overall the experience will mean we never return. Such a shame when it appeared online to be so promising. Would appreciate them indicating that they are unable to cater for dietary restrictions adequately on...
