I really rather enjoyed this pub. It's classic British and not just for blokes sitting around drinking, there were families here too. Just a proper nice pub. I have to complain though because the kitchen was closed in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday and noone even bothered to let us know when we ordered a round of pints. Not till we had picked from the menu and went back to the bar to order did we find out. I get that the cook might get sick, but at least let people know when they first show up. We would have left right away and not had a pint if we had known because we were super hungry at the time and it was unpleasant to have this delay before leaving for the next place. Read moreI've just visited, and had one of the best Thai curries I've ever had. Once upon a time, The Cajun chicken, was the best in the world. But the gauntlet has now definitely been served. Honest pub grub, with a twist, served without hassle from Rose , your friendly bar maid, and barman Rob. Okay. Like so many places, Covid has dented the lunchtime numbers but this pub is still in my heart, and will be a visitor as often as I can.
