London Pub MapLondon Pub Map
🚇 Green Park 🍺 £6.15 Pravha ❤️ A classy oasis off Piccadilly. . The Clarence is located just off Piccadilly and is just a stones throw from The Ritz Hotel. Getting here is easy, Green Park Tube Station is a couple of minutes walk away. . The original pub on this site was The Coach & Horses and was built in 1724. This pub was rebuilt in 1892 and again in 1953, this pub is named after the Duke of Clarence who became King William IV in 1830. To left of the pub used to be Dover Street Tube station, it was demolished in 1966 and replaced by Green Park station. . The decor here is traditional but the pub does have a modern feel to it due to the bar being well illuminated due to the lack of windows. The walls are a mix of light paint and dark wood panelling, dotted around are historical prints linked to the area. The seating here is all low level with a cosy area at the rear of the bar. Upstairs is another bar with a smart and comfortable dining area. . The beer choice was pretty good and included three cask options for the cultured quaffers. As this was my first pub visit of the day, I thought I would ease myself in to the day with a Pravha. My pint was very enjoyable and the price point was ok all things considered. The food menu is full of British classics with an emphasis on hearty pies. A Steak and Ale with mash and veg costs £16, good old Fish & Chips costs the same. . I visited just after midday on a Saturday and there were a dozen or so punters in attendance. The atmosphere was relaxed and chilled, a few of us were watching Football Focus on mute catching up on all the football stats. The soundtrack was soft rock classics to help you settle in to your time here. The two Guys on duty were very polite to all they served, they made me feel very welcome. . @theclarencemayfair is a welcoming retreat away from the humdrum of the comings and going’s around Piccadilly. This @nicholsonspubs is what are American cousins would call “A Classy Joint” and I couldn’t fault it. If you ever need a breather if you’re in the area, this calm oasis has got you. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 14/01/23

Love this pub! An almost hidden gem located just off the bustle of Piccadilly opposite the Ritz. The service is always brilliant. Experienced bar staff that acknowledge you to let you know you’re in line to be served. A massive selection of beers too, even Timmy Taylor’s from my part of the world. Our last visit we called in and the first quandary was whether or not to have starters. Oh go on then. There’s a massive range so just a few to share. For the main course, whilst I generally opt for the fish n chips, the menu has something to suit all tastes and it’s all reasonably priced, well for London! The family have had burgers, bangers and mash, gammon, nachos, roast dinner as well - all delicious. Worth noting that service is surprisingly quick even during busy periods. With the sides bursting an even bigger decision needed! Do we have desert? There’s such a variety that are so dangerously tempting but hey, we’re in London, we’re going to walk off the calories so we went for it! Again we just selected a few to share. The cheese cake and chocolate brownie were devoured. What I really like about the place though is the ambiance. The heritage decor really makes it feel cosy. In all there’s nothing to dislike about this place and our thanks and appreciation go to the management and staff that make this place so enjoyable and make us want to return on every visit.

This bar/pub is located in an excellent area and is pretty much what you’d expected. We went here after a meal for a drink before making our way home. There’s a nice ode to Alexander Graham Bell on the walls. The place is nice and clean and has a really nice looking dining area upstairs. The only downside - and it’s quite a big one for me - is the lady at the bar did not know what a ‘Kentucky Apple’ is not had she ever heard of it... I asked for it and she looked confused and asked if I had meant a gin. I brought over the menu to point the drink out and it was served with plain Apple juice as opposed to cloudy Apple juice. Im very disappointed with this as the lady then stated she doesn’t know how to charge me for the drink so I have no idea if I was charged the correct fee or not. Happily would have given 4 stars if the lady knew how to make the drink. (Picture from menu attached..)

We had to leave!! The worst experience ever. We had made dinner reservations at 9pm for last Saturday. As soon as we got there the waitress in a very bad way said that we had to order right away because the kitchen was closing. That she didn't even know how we got the reservation. When my husband asked for the scotch list, she said they didn't have a list, that they only had one to offer and that it was the best. She told him to go downstairs to the bar but that he had to ordered food before if he wanted to eat. While my husband was downstairs getting his drink she started to make fun of him saying that even if he found something there, he would have to go get it himself that she wasn't going to go get it for him, that she would just give him something different and that he wouldn't even know. When my husband came back, the drinks menu was on the table and said to her why didn't you give me this when I asked for the scotch list and she said that it wasn't necessary because he wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I think she's probably used to deal with drunk people but in our case we were there with our family and had never seen a waitress with so much lack of education.. We decided to leave and she said we couldn't that we had to pay for the water, my husband said he wasn't paying for anything that he wanted to see the manager and she said she was the manager, then my husband said okay let me know how much for the water and then she said we didn't have to pay, she was very excited. First I didn't even want to take the time to write the review but I want to let others know what they could experience if...
