I wish I was able to comment on the food, service or atmosphere of this venue, but, it didn't get that far lol 🤷🏼♀️ Upon calling to enquire, I had the a pretty terrible experience. The website would not allow me to make an enquiry for karaoke in December so I called to find out instead. Upon calling, I was told that I would not be able to make a booking through the website and should choose to make an enquiry through the website instead. I tried and the same issue persisted. As I was unable to get the information I needed from the website, I called back again. Retrospectively, its pretty clear she didnt want to help from the beginning, having already directed me back to a non-w9rkinf website but reluctantly, she agreed to look for me. When asking what I wanted, I said a karaoke room for 27 people for 2 hours on the date specified. I thought that this would be fairly obvious I meant a booth, but instead I was quoted for a private room hire for the whole evening, which as the conversation went on, I advised this was not what I wanted and that I just needed the information for a group booking for karaoke.
I wish I could say that was all lol. But instead of just giving me the relevant information, it was insisted that the private room was what I had asked for. As the call progressed, I found it more and more difficult to get an answer to a simple question. Was there availability or not? The lady replied that there were three other people interested in the private room for that evening. By that point I was so confused, I asked if that answer was applicable to a karaoke booth for 27 people for 2 hours, or the private room that I didn't want? She told me not to interrupt as she was trying to give me all of the information, but it turned out that she was indeed answering respectively to the private room hire that I had expressed more than 3 times I wasnt interested in. In addition to this she proceeded to tell me that I was being rude and aggressive and at this point, I must admit to being fairly rude, by replying that i felt similarly. This was the only time I felt I had been rude in any way, the rest of the time I was trying to pick out what information was relevant and what was not.
She terminated the telephone call, saying that if I felt that way too, then 'it wasn't going to work'... I wasn't aware we were in a relationship. I would usually have left it at this point tbh, because the experience of dealing with this person was more than enough to put me off, but I called back, as I felt the booking was in the interests of my group. Sadly it was the same woman I got through to, I asked for her name firstly which was refused. I then also said that I would like the information I rang for about karaoke for 27 people. She then gave me the information I asked for, I said thank you. She said she had not finished and that I was rude for interrupting again and proceeded to tell me more about the private room hire that I did not want. I said I would look around and come back to her and she said no, because she was blocking me from making the booking. It's laughable honestly.... but I felt anyone interested should know about my albeit very limited, but dreadful experience. I was left feeling quite...
Read moreSuch a dissapointing experience. I reached out to the cocktail club via email which they'd replied to me previously, and never heard from them. Here is what I sent. Very dissapointed not to get a reply from them.
Good afternoon,
I recently celebrated my birthday with you at the Shoreditch cocktail club on Saturday 20th November and just wanted to leave some feedback regarding my experience there.
On arrival, we were taken to an area with a small coffee table with one tea light on it, with a few chairs and sofa. We were told by the waiter that his colleague would be over to take our drinks order. It was so dark we had to use our phone torches to look at the cocktail menu. After waiting for someone to come and take our order, I instead wrote down our order on my phone and went to the bar to put through our order as no one had arrived. The bartender refused to take my order, saying I had to do it through one of the waiters. Even after explaining that no one had been over, he still refused to take the order. He then abruptly spoke to one of his colleagues and told him to take my order.
When I went back to the area I had booked, we were then informed we were being moved to an even smaller area and we were given no reason as to why we couldn't stay where we were. We then moved to a small booth and I hunted down the waiter who took our order to let him know we'd moved.
Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for our drinks to arrive. When some of them arrived, the waiter brought over a card machine to take payment which we paid, but I informed him we hadn't received all of our drinks. He looked confused but reassured me he would bring them over. The drinks we were waiting for were some shots and it seemed to take a very long time to receive these.
Once we'd finished these I ordered some more drinks. After waiting 20 minutes for these drinks (Again these were only shots we'd ordered), these never arrived, so we left.
I was very disappointed with our time and struggle to see how a £100 deposit is justified when the service was so slow and confusing.
On a positive note, I would like to say the two male waiters we had were very lovely. I felt the need to pass this feedback back to you in the hope this will be taken on board and improvements can be made so other people booking in future can have a better time than I did.

Read moreDO NOT GO HERE. THIEVES - Staff were unbelievably rude and possibly drunk. Charged my partner 11 pounds for a "measure" of Bombay Sapphire and half an already opened bottle of tonic that was on the bar. Threw loads of ice in the glass as if we were in McDonalds!! The whole time they were pouring her drink, the woman behind the bar was on her mates back falling about the place laughing. I queried the price as it was quite high for something like that and she just said "is there a problem baby?" while falling about the place literally laughing at us. In hindsight, that should have been enough for us to leave but it was late and we just wanted one before going back to our hotel which is on the same block. Only place open nearby too. - I ordered another bottle for myself and two shots of tequila for both of us to have before we headed back. After chatting with the chef/barman he charged me for the drinks. I wasn't paying attention (my own fault I know), and when I checked my Revolut when I sat down he had charged me 28.97 for 1 x bottle of Staropramen 330ml and 2 x shots of tequila. Also, my partner asked him for a lime and he said "no!". He included a 12.5% service charge without saying a thing as well. So basically we tipped him for the pleasure. At that point it was definitely a mistake coming here. Overall, including our first order, thats 47 pounds for 2 x bottles of Staropramen 330mls, the worst gin and tonic ever and 2 x shots of tequila!! The club is not high end in the slightest as well by the way. I'd understand if we'd stumbled into a seriously fancy spot but this was a murky basement playing indie and pop tunes! I had to query the bill for a second time and it was clear they were just chancing it with us. The woman behind the bar organised a refund of 20 pounds which hasnt gone back on my card yet.And made it out like she was doing us a favour and the shots of tequila were on the house etc. Shouldnt have happened to start with.Who else got ripped off last night?! I'm not used to having to check every single bar order when I'm out and fortunately seldom have issues like this but I'd keep your wits about you here, but would mainly recommend avoiding the...
