My wife and I made a trip to London a few years ago and stayed at a hotel on Lillie Road. I went to The Elm almost every night and had a fantastic time. It's not the largest pub in the area but the people were all friendly and the service was fast and efficient. The décor might need a little updating, but it seemed clean and comfortable. As I was leaving, when I told the barman on my last visit that I had to go home to Canada the next morning EVERYBODY in the pub raised their glasses to me and bid me farewell! How can you beat that? You can't. I'll go back to The Elm in a heartbeat the next time...

Went in for a pint. The lady, was just unwelcoming. I don’t know why. I was very abruptly asked for ID, which is OK. But considering the unwelcoming feeling I felt first coming in, it just added to the weird feeling I got from bar lady, and the asking of ID felt it was more of profiling, than asking for reason of verifying my age. I live on Archel Road. And will share with my neighbours how unwelcomed I felt. Maybe I’m not gentrified enough I dunno. Or maybe she’s just like that.. but yeah, I drink a lot and rarely have come across a bar lady that has made me...
