Read moreI have used this Pub a lot over the years and have enjoyed it with friends and work colleagues. The problem I have found over the last couple of years is the quick turn around in staff and management. As someone with a disability I am registered Bind and was horrified & shocked by the female manager who was on duty when I visited with a colleague yesterday. We had one drink only and I went to order another drink for us. I was about to be served by a barmaid when this manager told her not to serve me. For a moment I was in disbelief and shocked. I then asked the female manager why she refused to serve me. She told me she did not like my body language & movement & had another to drink. I told her that I had only had one drink and pointed out that I was registered Bind. She said I don't care your not being served. So we left & went somewhere else nearby who were more than accomodating with my disability. So if you have a sight problem or a disability I would recommend that you stay far away as possible while this manager is here. She clearly has no training on customer service skills. And can not tell the difference between someone with a disability and someone who has had to much to drink. I sadly feel this woman has a problem against people with disabilities and should not be in a position of dealing & serving the public. Or until she has been re trained and taught how to deal with different sections & abilities & disabilities of the public. I can only say that she has a Latin accent due to my sight but I was told she is quite small with dark black hair. Beware anyone with a disability thinking...
Read moreI have just read the review of Jason Roberts. I am the colleague who was with him when the female bar manager refused to serve him drinks for us. I was in disbelief when she said we were too drunk, but my feelings turned to disgust when I heard of her comments regarding my friend's body language/movement and realised how hurtful those comments had been. I then started to wonder if she had thought I was drunk because of my involuntary, rapid eye movement. This is a condition called Nystagmus and one of the consequences of my having Ocular Albinism. Like my friend, I too am registered Blind. It would seem then that this bar manager has an issue with people who are visually impaired, in which case she needs to understand that refusing to serve someone because of their disability could be unlawful discrimination contrary to the Equality Act 2010. This manager is obviously in need of customer service re-training. Otherwise this is a friendly pub with a nice pint and food and a great venue to watch televised live sport because it has a...
