Do not stay here. To put in simply the whole building has structural issues and the management do not care for residents at all. This has led to major pest issues. We have been living with mice for months and the company which manages garden halls and Hughes parry tower have failed to do anything substantial to help us. It is like living in a hostel. The managers of the halls do not want to help and simply blame students for the issues. The whole building is infested. Maintenance team do not fix anything in a timely manner. You have to chase them up all the time for anything to be done. Lots of fixtures broken when we moved in. Staff refuse to believe that you actually have a problem with mice and simply say āit probably wasnāt a mouseā. DO NOT APPLY TO LIVE HERE. The staff donāt want to help you. There have been intruders as there is no security downstairs - homeless people sleeping in the basement, students being followed in at night. Donāt be fooled by the pictures online showing the rooms. Canāt ever pick up parcels at their so called 24/7 reception. There are nicer jails out there to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHigh price for an ensuite which you actually just get a set of very basic facilities, some are the worst that I've ever used. This accommodation is built in 2016 but still using the basin with flap-type cover, which easily get blocked. The water pressure of the toilet is never enough. Your toilet gets awfully stucked very often, and sometimes leaks water after flushed for minutes, creating continuous noises. The room layout is not wise enough. The space arrangement makes the room very packed, especially a very narrow space between desk and bed. One third of the window is intentionally blocked(every room) and the window literally can't open. I don't even see their reason of building the blocked and non-openable part of the window. The food is not tasty, and can only be regarded as survival-level. Queues are usually long at the beginning, but when you come later the good food may be already ran out. Close to UCL but actually not very close to schools like LSE. Its nearest bus station(tavistock square station) get closed very often due to thames...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA student apartment with no management. My neighbours scream, sing and bring guests (males and females) to her room, laughing like crazy for hours every day.To avoid their voices, I went out at noon until 10 p.m., and when I came back I could still hear them laughing and screaming excitedly.I guess they may have finished their exams, but I still have my essays to write. However the managers don't care about any of the rest of the time except 23:00 to 7:00 the next day.I can't open my windows because of the noise they make, I can't get a response to the emails I send. This is a student residence, not a party house, save the students who actually need to study!!!!This is not at all the kind of upbringing and quality that a student in a student residence at a top university in the world should have. This is not a humane management at all, and it's really painful...
