From Professor Lawrie Rajendran:
Title: An Ode to The George at Hounslow: Where Georgia Winks from Across the Seas
In the realm of authenticity, where Georgian charm meets English charisma, The George at Hounslow emerges as the most genuine Georgian place this side of the Black Sea. As I stepped through its doors, I half-expected to be greeted by a chorus of polyphonic singing and a dance troupe performing the Kartuli.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars for Everything - Because why settle for less when The George serves up excellence in every Georgian-laden dish and British-infused ambiance.
Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the ambiance, transporting me to the cobbled streets of Tbilisi. The décor is so authentic; I'm almost convinced I spotted a miniature Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in the corner. The attention to detail is awe-inspiring; it's like being in Georgia without the need for a passport.
And let's talk about the menu. If Shakespeare were Georgian, he'd have penned sonnets about the culinary delights at The George. From khachapuri to khinkali, each dish is a symphony of flavors, proving that you don't need a Tardis to travel through time and space – just a table reservation.
Now, let me introduce you to the real star of The George, the young but undeniably wisest all-rounder, Mr. Shawn. If Aristotle were alive today, he'd ditch his philosophy and enroll in Shawn's classes. This man is a living encyclopedia of Georgian cuisine, history, and dance moves. I'm convinced he knows more about khachapuri than the average Georgian grandmother.
Shawn not only took our orders but also became our guide through the gastronomic wonders of Georgia. He recommended the perfect wine to accompany our khachapuri, and his description of each dish was a poetic journey through the hills and valleys of the Caucasus.
The service was so prompt that I wondered if they had a direct hotline to a Georgian grandma in the kitchen. And speaking of the kitchen, my compliments to the chef who must have a magical cauldron for brewing up such delectable dishes.
In conclusion, if you're looking for an authentic Georgian experience without the hassle of customs and airport security, The George at Hounslow is your go-to destination. A solid 5 stars, plus an extra star for Mr. Shawn – the unsung hero who turned our dinner into a Georgian feast and left us with the inexplicable urge to dance the Kazbeguri in the heart of London. Bravo, George, bravo!

Read moreVery good service from the guy that served us. But terrible food and super expensive.
Beef in the Kharko, has been cooked another day, it was hard like a rock. And you know that it was already a cooked meat.
Bread it was from another day, difficult to eat it.
Khachapuri it was just a cheap pastry filled with cheap cheese. For £15.
£3 for each sauce.
£16 for lamb chops. Only a very very small 4 of them and dry.
I ordered one bread, and you charged us for 2. £7
The veggie dish the same, just very very oily dish with few pieces of aubergine and peppers. Ridiculous.
And you try to charge us %15 of service charge in a tiny restaurant in Hounslow with 5 tables. When restaurants in Central London with big names and 80 tables charge 13,5% maximum. It looks like a joke honestly.
I honestly recommend to the owner to visit other restaurants in the area and improve. no service charge, bigger portions, better quality, proper tender meat, more love in the dishes, fresh bread, and honestly, you are not even in the high street, and the COST of your dishes is ridiculous, every time we going to discover a restaurant in Hounslow where we live now, we don’t pay more than £50 and you try to charge us £100 for less and worst food.
It honestly make me upset when in a restaurant try to serve me food from another day. Better not to say bad words here, but it looks like you don’t respect your clients, the food, your culture and your country.
The guy that served us was super nice and attentive, and sorry if the service charge of 15% that I removed it was going to you, but with the profit that they making they should be able to give you a...
Read moreA table was booked 2 weeks in advance. When we came on the day of booking, we were seated at a table near the door. When I asked to move us, the manager refused. I want to note that the restaurant was almost empty and there were many free and unbooked seats in other rooms. We were unhappy. The food was also not up to par. Khinkali should have broth and meat inside, but our khinkali only had meat without broth. This made the khinkali dry. I don't know how a Georgian "restaurant" couldn't make a tasty kebab (shashlik). The meat was not marinated, nor was the onion. Also, no greens were offered with the meat, just raw onions. The only plus of this place is our waiter, he was friendly, welcoming, and brought the order quickly. Unfortunately, we cannot call this place a Georgian restaurant. It is something between a canteen and a cafe. We cannot...
