Monday 24th December 2018 Christmas Eve. I went to London Bridge to have a few drinks I stopped over at this pub called ā€œThe Globe Tavernā€ at approx 21:30 nice beautiful pub I haven’t been to this pub in almost 8years I have no clue if this pub was called a different name before. I went to this pub busy but not rammed happy atmosphere I went to bar and got served by a white mate I asked if they stick Hennessy which was not available so I asked for courvoisier in glass no ice. Price was fairly cheap around Ā£6.80 for Double i even tipped. I asked the young man if I could charge my phone he said he hasn’t got a charger behind the counter. But said their are plug socket around the pub where I can charge my phone I was happy as I had my own charger on me that night I sat on a stool near the side door where there was a plug socket charged my phone from it was a double socket, one socket on the right hand side was occupied by a Christmas lights left socket was free to use. I finished my brandy went to the bar put my phone in my pocket spoke a male working behind the bar what time they close he said 11 0’clock (23:00) so I said I am going smoke a cigarette and be back young lady come from the left and side and said would you like a drink I said a double brandy ā€œcourvoisierā€ not no ice just the glass as I am talking to the young male I saw from corner of my eyes young lady was pouring Martell so I asked the male to stop her pouring she made a mistake. She made come steaming to me as I ordered the Martell instead and make my mind up as she is confronting me the young male had come from no where I and I asked him a question in front of the young lady what did I order he said ā€œdouble brandy courvoisier no iceā€ he left as he had other work to do. I told young the young lady I refused to be served by you and the young male came by and apologised and said sir I will have your drink ready once you come back. I had a smoke come back and ordered my drink from a different member of staff(manager) and young made it for me he put ice by accident and the lady noticedI just said scoop the ice out I Asked to speak to the manager. Whose also a female I explained the situation the manager she apologised on behalf the employee. I replied back ā€œyou should not apologise for someone else’s actions, we are not children they should take their own responsibilityā€ I said water under the bridge as I have finished my second brandy and pub about to close 21:51 to be exact the young foolish girl come approach and said ā€œHELLO STRANGE MANā€ I replied ā€œbetter than everā€ I approached the manager again and explained to her whats wrong this girl they way She talking to the customer I am considering to never to come back to this establishment. I explained what I do for a living and would not employee selfish, rude, arrogant. Hateful She may even been intoxicated

THANK YOU FOR SPOILING...

Stopped here for an impromptu dinner even though really I've wanted to try this place (Bridget Jones' old apartment) since I saw pics of its dishes from their soft opening! I'd say the veggie starters of crispy hen egg in lovage soup was very punchy! The other veggie starter of grapefruit and asparagus was very fresh and seasonal! The mains is where the review changes... The calamari dish which was part tempura and part stuffed with brown shrimps with shavings of fennel was very highly rated. The veggie main however of new potatoes, zucchini and a garlicky sauce was tasty but completely uninspired! What really saved it was the triple cooked chips which is the best we have ever had! The aioli is super garlicky though! We ended up sharing the chocolate pudding which was actually perfectly portioned for sharing as we were pretty...

This review is related only to an experience with someone I’m assuming works in the pub as she was wearing an apron and walked out from a staff area. There was a long line for the bathroom, which I waited in with my young daughter after enjoying some drinks outside. (Good drinks, btw) She saw us go in and after what she thought was too long to wait, she proceeded to pull and shake the door repeatedly while we were inside. When we came out, I let her know she didn’t have to do that to a child and slammed the door in my face. I understand waiting is hard, but it’s not our fault if the pub doesn’t have staff bathrooms. Hope the staff member realizes someday how inappropriate it was to do that while a child was...

Normally when someone comes to London to visit I always take them to this pub, because of Bridget jones and stuff, well this last Friday I went and I got really disappointed ā˜¹ļø lots of staff behind the bar and even though they were polite, there were no customers and still you had to wait to be served, the toilets 🚽 in a bus terminal were cleaner than those, it was disgusting 🤢 and to put the cherry on top of the cake the draft beer was hot… hope you guys can do something about it… the place is nice and the location is perfect, I’ll keep on bringing customers around I just hope we won’t have the same experience.

Popped in for a quiet lunchtime pint on my own, whilst passing through Borough Market. Friendly welcome, reassuring COVID-19 compliant measures in place, cracking pint of Guinness. I'll be back with friends once normality returns. What a lovely find.

Brilliant pub, very noisy, great beer. Bar tenders very quick to make eye contact and serve and advise on the lager and IPAs. I had a Guinness which was excellent.
