Visited 17/01/25. Came in for lunch as on Google, the restaurant was opened and serving food. When we got there, we found out that the kitchen didn’t open until 5:30. So we decided to wait and have some cocktails until the night staff arrived. I ordered a Porn Star Martini with Kyra who was very pleasant and friendly and whose shift ended. I ordered a French Kiss Martini, which I did not like the taste of, I took one sip and asked the blonde girl behind the bar if it was ok if I swapped out that drink and just had another Porn Star. The blonde girl asked with attitude “what did you not like”, I replied “I did not like the taste of it”. She was awkward, rude and shouldn’t be behind the bar with a poor personality, representing the hospitality of this restaurant. Good hospitality and customer service would’ve replied “no problem, we’ll make you another drink”. This was the most awful hospitality experience I had while being in London. While I walking away from the bar, the girl was talking about me to the male bartender. They overcharged us on our order, did not remove the drink that didn’t taste good. Not friendly towards Americans at all and handled conducting business extremely poorly. While the food served is Thai, the respect of a hospitable business was represented in dishonor of Thai culture. Would never recommend any Americans to eat, drink, or step foot in the door here after my encounter.

We booked a few weeks in advance and were genuinely excited to dine at Latymers Hammersmith. Upon arrival, we were shown to our table and began reading the menu when a waiter abruptly asked us to move. Feeling slightly embarrassed, we gathered our belongings and complied. At our new table, the same waiter immediately came over to take our order, but since we’d just been moved, we needed a bit more time. His visible frustration and dismissive attitude were disappointing and set an unpleasant tone for the evening. Unfortunately, the service only got worse. The waiter came across as rude and judgmental, giving the impression that we were somehow beneath his standards. The most inappropriate moment came when he asked the only African female at our table if she’d like to “wash the dishes” — a comment that was completely out of line. It’s a shame, because the food itself was outstanding — we especially loved the Pad Kee Mao, Red Curry, Gai Prik Tai Dum, and Khanom Jeeb. While I would have happily given Latymers four stars for its cuisine, the unacceptable service completely overshadowed what could have been a wonderful dining experience. As a professional reviewer with over 13m views , its a shame to only give 1 star due to a waiter but that was our experience and we definitely will not be returning.

We’ve been coming here for around 15 years and have introduced over 20 people to this place because of how consistently great the food and customer service have been, it’s always been our go-to for Thai food. However, on our most recent visit, we were really surprised and a bit disappointed. The pad thai, which is usually flawless and perfectly spicy, just wasn’t as good this time. Even the chicken sizzler I always order lacked its usual spice. On the positive side, the décor has improved a lot and the atmosphere is lovely. It’s a shame to have our first disappointment in 15 years, but I’m hoping it was just an off day. Parking is conveniently right next to the restaurant paid during the day but free after 6:30 pm and if you’re coming by train, the closest station is Hammersmith. Prices are very affordable and portion sizes are generous.

TL;DR: Good food, poor-ish service. Pub good, restaurant OK-ish.

I went to the Thai restaurant, rather than the pub. The food was very good. Not the biggest portions, but the price was good. The staff, however, let them down. As we walked in, we attempted to sit down, only to be told "you can't come in here with drinks from the pub (attached to the restaurant)" which we were not trying to do. After explaining we wished to sit in the restaurant and eat, we were asked to sit at a table of 4 (as there were 4 of us); fair enough. We asked to sit at the table of 8 as there were 3 more people coming, and likely even more to join (also eating). As the restaurant was almost empty, we thought this reasonable. We were asked to sit at the original 4, but to pull up a 2 person table alongside, despite explaining we would almost definitely need more space, and that taking the 4 man table to the side (as well as our 4) was likely the better choice. The staff were quite insistent (and rude) that we only sit at the 4. There was then a confusion about how to order, that I won't go in to, that wasn't handled in the best way. We subsequently had 4 more people arrive to eat, 2 of whom had to sit on the extra 2 spaces, the other 2 occupying 2 of the 4 spaces on the 4 person table our right. Ultimately, the tables assigned to us did not affect our meal, but I feel that the staff handled our request in a suboptimal manner. As such, it definitely wasn't an awful experice, but it somewhat tainted what would otherwise have been a very...
