Just back from an incredible experience in India. From start to finish, the whole trip was seamless and ran like clockwork from the first airport to the last, thanks to Lisa at Healing Holidays and her exceptional organisation and attention to detail. The India ground team and guides were all amazing and if you get the opportunity, please express our gratitude to them all. Each and every one of them was incredible.

Each and every hotel was out of this world and as they'd been informed that it was my birthday (an unexpected surprise so thank you for that!) I was presented with a birthday cake in every hotel (in fact a total of 9 in all with one hotel giving me 2!), champagne, flowers and gifts in the rooms. The District Destinations rep at Udaipur also gave me a cake and also gifts for both myself and my friend.

At Ananda, the staff were also incredible. So attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I wanted to do a ceremony to celebrate my late husband's birthday at Ananda on the 30th (his birthday) and we asked if it was possible to do something to celebrate him. The staff went over and above and arranged for a private ceremony to celebrate John’s life and soul with a priest on the roof of the hotel. It was the most special thing and will stay in my heart for ever.

The treatments we had at Ananda have set the bar so high that I don't think any massages and therapies will ever live up to the exceptional quality with all of the therapists being warm, compassionate, incredibly gifted and skilled.

The driver from Ananda took us to two incredible fire ceremonies - one that was part of the package and another huge, lesser known one two days later. My friend and I were totally lost for words at the chaos and colour as thousands and thousands of people filled both banks of the Ganges in Haridwar (I’ve since learned that this is the first town that the Ganges flows through from its source). I think we were the only westerners there and we were blown away to be part of such a special event.

The airport Meet & Greet was a godsend with a private buggy waiting for me in Delhi on my return trip home - it’s definitely set the standard for travelling and took away any stress that there could have been. They fast tracked us through security and passport control at each airport like we were celebrities.

We’re still processing the holiday - it feels like we were away for months.

So THANK YOU again Lisa for all of your hard work, attention to detail and for making it all so wonderful - it was the best holiday ever.

I decided this Christmas wasn't going to get me down, so I called Healing Holidays and Sonia recommended I book in for a pre-Christmas detox lasting 5 nights at Lefay Resort. Well! It did not disappoint. This isn't my first experience at a wellness retreat but this was my first in Italy. The food was sensational, with a Mediterranean feel. I especially enjoyed the 'do it yourself' juicing station, (the breakfast buffet looked superb but i was in detox mode and given a prescribed menu when I arrived). I even managed to walk past the bread and pastry room and instead, treated myself to fresh seafood on the deck later in the day - it was simply delicious. In my initial consultation I received an energy evaluation and as suspected, I had none! I then received a nutrition consultation and was prescribed a special diet. This really helped with my energy levels and is something I've brought home with me. I also received some energy reflexology treatments (my favourite) and some mud wraps. They do have plenty of signature massages to choose from and a really relaxing infinity pool. Now, I'm not a fan of the gym, but I wanted to get the most out of my stay, so I had a go at using some of the equipment. What i really appreciated was that there was a personal trainer there at the ready to answer any questions - I had more questions more than I thought I would. After all my treatments, dieting, relaxing and massages I had such a bounce in my step, but what I really love is that I still feel the benefits from my stay. I will definitely return.
