Unsafe, untidy, rude staff and hidden extra costs.||This is one of the most horrible experience I have encountered in my life. Keeping us from checking in for the following reasons.||Firstly, I placed the booking using mobile app from booking.com. And found a deal where my two main reasons for this booking was free parking and breakfast included which was filtered using the app, while making this booking, thus booking this hotel on the first place. On arrival, the front desk mentioned there is no free parking on site, and asked us to pay or park on roadside. But, that’s the only thing I can think of that would makes sense in this booking even-though parking on the app filter would normally be considered as free parking on site.||Secondly, they asked for more payment than agreed. Even-though the booking.com customer care executive mentioned its on the website, even when the front desk manager said it not advertised on their website. Not sure where this information is coming from.||The hotel front office staff insisted us to make the payment and kept us for more than 1.5hrs since our arrival at hotel and forced us to pay. I wasn’t feeling safe and then the customer care executive said this is the only way forward since I don’t want myself and my wife to be outside in the middle the night. This is around 01.45am. We arrived at the property roughly at 01.15am and rang them the day before informing of our late check-in and they agreed. I cant fathom the idea of how come hospitality sector has gone this bad. ||The reason for the extra payment was for, if there is any damages to be found at their property when we checkout they could charge us (I would then normally assume then the property should be tip top shape). When I entered to the room, the attached photos are what I found. I immediately asked the front office staff to make note of it. And he said thats upto their standards. Why am I not surprised?||1. No door locks|2. Broken tiles in bathrooms|3. Mould inside the bedroom|4. Peeled wallpapers all along the property |5. Exposed wiring and unsafe |6. Unsafe furnitures||Avoid...
Read moreNot as bad as I was expecting based on some reviews but I won’t be returning ! Nor would I recommend ||Stayed the night here whilst visiting the west end for a show as it was convenient for the bakerloo line and Warwick Avenue tube being on the hotel door step. ||I phoned ahead to ask if we can store luggage prior to check in (you can).|I also expressed my concern for my stay due to the many negative reviews the hotel had been receiving lately and I was coming for a special anniversary and didn’t want it being ruined. I was assured I would have a lovely room as per my special request. ( I requested a quiet room on a high floor).|When we checked in we were taken to the basement and the room was not quiet - it had the underground I was once please to have close by, running above it every 7-15 minutes !||The room was tired, dated and unloved. The view from the window was a brick wall, wallpaper is peeling off In many places, stains on the bedsheets, only 1 plug socket in the whole room that had to be used for the bedside lamp or kettle, PLIS any devices you may want to charge or use ! Yes it’s a single socket - All other appliances are hard wired (other bedside lamp, TV, trouser press). In the morning went to have a wash - no bath plug and shower was very slow flowing ||Breakfast was included - don’t get excited - dry bread, dry crossiant, jams with no indication of what they were, a few meats and cheese, ( again no indication as to what they were) Not ideal for anyone with allergies ||The dining area again like the rest of the building was unloved, tired looking and grubby ||Think it’s safe to say I wont return ! Nor would I recommend to others |Considering it wasn’t even cheap, spend a bit extra and find...
Read moreTL;DR: Don't stay at the Colonnade Hotel, it's a shameless establishment run by crooks.
My partner and I checked-in to the Colonnade Hotel one the afternoon, dropped our bags and went out for the day. We returned later that same evening. All normal hotel stuff so far. However, we couldn't get into our room. The receptionist on duty spun us a line that there had a been a burst pipe and swiftly handed us back our belongings. Obviously unhappy with this, we asked to speak to the hotel manager only to be told that they weren't available. After some persuasion, the receptionist arranged to transfer us to another "equivalent" hotel and cover all the costs. We had already paid in advance for a room at the Colonnade, so this seemed fair. After keeping us waiting for over an hour, an Uber finally turned up to take us to a different hotel. The driver worked for Uber and so had no affiliation with either hotels or knowledge of the transfer. The Uber eventually dropped us off outside a student dorms building on the other side of central London. Contrary to what the receptionist of the Colonnade had told us, we weren't booked in to the nearby 2-star hotel. They didn't even know we were coming. Luckily, they had rooms available. So, after paying for two rooms in two different hotels and travelling to the other side of central London, we finally went to bed at 1 o'clock in the morning.
Some considerable time has passed since that fateful night and despite emailing and ringing the Colonnade several times a week since then, we still haven't received any form of apology or refund, and sadly it doesn't look like we ever will. We strongly recommend you...
