Atmosphere and Ambience:

As soon as I entered "The Spice of Life" pub, I was immediately struck by its cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The pub is relatively small, but it has a warm and intimate feel. The lighting is dim and atmospheric, with just enough light to see the people around you without being too bright.

The decor of the pub is a mix of modern and classic, with exposed brick walls and wooden furnishings giving it a rustic charm. There are also various musical instruments on display, adding to the overall ambiance of the pub.

The seating is comfortable, with a mix of high tables and booths. The booths provide a bit more privacy, while the high tables allow for a more social experience. The pub has a friendly and laid-back vibe, and the patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves, chatting and laughing amongst themselves.

Live Music Performances:

"The Spice of Life" pub is well known for its live music performances, with an open mic policy allowing local musicians and singers to showcase their talents. I was fortunate enough to catch a performance by a talented singer-songwriter, and it was truly impressive. The sound quality was excellent, and the acoustics of the pub were top-notch.

The stage is located at the back of the pub, giving the performers plenty of room to showcase their talents. The lighting is subtle yet effective, with colored spotlights adding a bit of atmosphere to the performances.

The pub also hosts regular gigs featuring local bands and musicians, which are always well-received by the crowd. The performances are diverse, with a range of musical genres and styles on display.

Drinks and Food:

"The Spice of Life" pub has an impressive selection of beers and cocktails, with a focus on local and craft brews. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, and they're happy to offer recommendations if you're unsure of what to order.

The food menu is varied and delicious, with a mix of classic pub fare and some unique dishes. I tried the pub's signature steak and ale pie, which was cooked to perfection and filled with tender chunks of meat. The fries were crispy and tasty, and the portion size was generous. The pub also offers vegetarian and vegan options, which is a nice touch.

Service:

The service at "The Spice of Life" pub is excellent. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The bartenders are quick to refill drinks, and the servers are happy to answer any questions you may have. The staff seemed genuinely interested in making sure that their patrons had a good time, and they were always willing to go above and beyond to accommodate any requests.

Conclusion:

Overall, I had a fantastic experience at "The Spice of Life" pub. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, the live music performances are impressive, and the food and drinks are delicious. The service is top-notch, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The open mic policy is a nice touch, allowing local musicians and singers to showcase their talents. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a fun and laid-back night out with...

I went to a bar to celebrate with my friends, and my bag containing important documents was stolen. To keep it safe, I moved my bag to my friend's side before going to the toilet, but it was stolen along with my hard drive, iPod, university ID, and work IDs. When I asked the staff to check the security cameras, they said only the police could view the footage. I brought the police to the bar, and they reviewed the security footage, identifying the person who took my bag. It was clearly a homeless person or a drug addict. I questioned how the security could allow such a person inside the bar, and their response was that this happens all the time and I should have taken my bag with me to the toilet. My bag was stolen from our table, and I feel betrayed that a private establishment allows suspicious individuals inside and then offers no substantial help. The security presence seems pointless if they cannot prevent such incidents. It was an incredibly frustrating experience, with losses valued over £500, and I didn't even receive an apology for what happened. It's not even about the monetary value; it’s the information on my hard drive that...

Stayed at the hotel and it was an all round extraordinary experience!

It combines, in the one hand, the casual of a pub stay - a friendly, personal check-in process, completely different from a normal hotel. No reception per say but a dedicated team ready at all times - Especially the manager John!! With, in the other hand, the luxury of a small boutique hotel, with small quirks and nods anywhere you could possibly lay your eyes on, a design and attention to detail I've personally only experienced in much, much more expensive hotels.

Not mentioning the incredible location in the heart of Soho, the history of which the hotel pays a beautiful homage to, and the iconic pub and music venue on the premises... The hotel part itself is Aynhoe-esque, quirky country home interior, extravagant yet tasteful, colourful chic to the max. It feels like cranking up saturation to 200%.

The hotel part is brand new as it has JUST opened and the whole experience felt like uncovering a gem before it comes to public attention and inevitably...

Nice pub, ideally located next door to the palace theatre, we booked a table here for dinner in between the two Harry Potter shows and it worked out perfectly. The staff are very friendly and helpful, sadly a few things we wanted to order were not on the menu but the food that we did order was nice and reasonable value for money. It was also good to be able to reserve a table online so we didn’t have to risk not being able to have a seat as it does get quite busy. There is indoor and outdoor seating and they do hold various events there too. The cheesecake was not my favourite but the brownie was delicious and the breaded mushrooms were great.

This pub has recently been renovated and its low level lighting gives it a somewhat intimate feel. They offer standard pub food e.g. fish and chips. They had four cask beers but I opted for a Peroni at £6.80. Their whisky selection was not extensive, comprising 13 whiskies. They have a small exterior seating area plus a nice bar downstairs (used mainly for events such as music and comedy). We were there at 4pm on a Friday and it was quite busy. The one disappointment was that we had to leave earlier than we wanted as virtually all tables were reserved from 6.30pm. The service was excellent. In summary a nice pub in a good location.

The Spice of Life is a pub in central London, not far from Leicester Square - and right next to the Palace Theatre. It is owned by McMullen's Brewery, so most of the hand-pumped ales on offer are McMullen's, plus a limited number of guest ales and international lagers. The pub food is of a higher standard than usual - there are daily specials, too. The atmosphere is relaxed (except at peak times, of course - when it can get really busy), and the staff usually very friendly and helpful. It doesn't feel as cramped and chaotic as other pubs in the area. Toilet facilities are also far above central London standards.
