Monday 3 of may 2021 we are 2 of us for two pints on the fly before dinner booked in another place , sounds very easy but this what happened inprobably the worst place I ever been in London: We arrive on the site and we see the queue outside with people sitting and drinking, we spot a table for 2 in the corner and we think it’s good for us, but before to take it straight (like most people do)we go to the host asking if they are running a waiting list, the guy say sometimes like: first come first serve without even leave his position! I tell him that there is a table with empty glasses on it behind the wall, the host guy says : you can have it, i ll send someone to take the order, So we sit down. There is a server walking around the tables like he s not even working, he has tray and card machine but after pass by plenty times he never collects the glasses on his way back and keeps ignoring us and the the table, so after 15 minutes I decide to go back to the first guy, very politely I tell him that we still don’t get any service! When I back at the table there is another young one Collecting the cups it sounds like he s not trained to take orders but we tell him that we only needs to pints of lagers, he says yes and he leaves ,after 10 minutes nothing, then he comes another one so we tell him that we still waiting but we already ordered the beers, this second server looks more confident with his job so he leaves us telling me he got the order, After 10 more minutes nothing, so a third guy passes by asking us what’s going on, so we tell him that we keep ordering the same thing without receive it just to avoid double orders, we keep waiting but we see other tables getting drinks, actually cocktails so I realise they keep forgetting us, so I stand and I try to get their attention, when I try to step in the place the third guy puts the hand on my chest to keep me outside the place, cause at the moment guests can only be outside.. ok fair enough, you re touching me but I can understand your frustration, the issue is that you as server don’t understand our one! So when I tell them that they haven’t been capable to deliver 2 pints on the table the guy who touched me starts laughing at me, keep saying go back to your sit the pints are coming in such rude and sarcastic way, at that point I decide to go and speak to the host and the owner of the place. At the beginning they seems to understand what s happening and not happening to the other side of the wall but when they ask me who is the one misbehaving I look around and just that moment the guy who touched me passes by. I say : he was this one! The guy start shouting at me saying : “ I don’t get paid enough to deal with you! “and other non sense and he says to his boss that I was rude to him! That wasn’t true.. they completely failed to serve 2 beers and got ashamed for that without offer apologies.. After arguing for a bit The boss now knows that we are making up a show in front of everyone in the queue so he runs away from me, before that i ask him if they are on trip advisor or other websites, he says : nooo We are here! Laughing at me like tho others before him! We decide to leave. In chrono order in this place we experienced: Bad hosting, bad manners, bad service, bad timing, and physical arrasement and that’s why I m...
Read moreAs someone who has spent much of my life supporting charitable causes, including organizing numerous fundraising events to address disparities in healthcare and education systems in developing countries, I was initially pleased to see Dingwall host a charity event aimed at promoting similar values. Unfortunately, my experience at this event left me deeply disappointed.
While the event purported to support important social causes, my personal experience suggested that it may have been more about marketing than genuine commitment to these issues. I attended the event with friends, including my boyfriend, to enjoy an evening of music for a good cause. However, during the night, I became the target of harassment, which included insults based on my sexual orientation and having a pint of beer thrown at me. It was an upsetting and humiliating experience.
I immediately reported the incident to a member of the security team, who spoke briefly to the individuals involved but took no further action. When I expressed my concerns, I was advised to speak to the manager. I explained to the manager what had happened, including the harassment and assault, and I referenced the protections outlined in the Equality Act 2010, which prohibits discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation in such settings. My intent was not to threaten but to highlight that this behavior should not be tolerated, especially in a public venue.
Unfortunately, the manager dismissed my concerns, stating that the bar was not responsible for the actions of its patrons. Despite my repeated questions about whether the establishment supported such behavior, the manager declined to provide a direct response. Instead of addressing the situation, I was escorted out of the venue by security.
To make matters worse, one of the security personnel made an intimidating remark as I was being escorted out, implying that something bad could happen to me if I didn’t leave quietly. Another security guard intervened to diffuse the situation, but by that point, I felt deeply unsafe.
That night, I reported the incident to the police. The lack of action taken by the venue in response to the harassment I experienced, as well as the threatening behavior from staff, has left me feeling vulnerable and disheartened. I hope by sharing my story, I can encourage others to speak up if they experience similar treatment.
I would advise caution to anyone considering visiting this venue. In my experience, they did not take adequate steps to ensure the safety and well-being of all patrons, nor did they seem to take their responsibilities under the...
Read moreOn the 9th June 2023 I visited Dingwells Pub in Camden with a friend, hoping for a pleasant time, However, my experience was far from satisfactory. From the moment we ordered our drinks, it became evident that customer experience was not a priority for this establishment.
I ordered a bottle of Corona, which was served ice-cold and had the refreshing taste I expected. Unfortunately, my friend's pint of Corona was warm and tasted like dishwater. Recognizing the issue, my friend politely returned to the bar to inform the staff that the Corona tap seemed to be off and requested a bottle instead.
To our surprise, the manager responded to our complaint did not handle the situation professionally. Instead of addressing our concerns, he dismissed them with a taste test using a straw. Then declaring “It tastes alright to me!”Despite my friend's insistence that he try the bottle for a proper comparison, the manager arrogantly claimed he didn't even know what Corona should taste like. This lack of knowledge and indifference toward customer satisfaction was disheartening.
Even after reluctantly providing a replacement bottle, we observed the bar staff continuing to pour pints from the same problematic taps. It was evident that their primary concern was making money rather than ensuring a positive customer experience. The staff members displayed snide behavior and lacked the basic courtesy and professionalism expected in a customer-oriented establishment. The presence of bouncers also contributed to an overall unpleasant atmosphere.
To improve this pub, significant changes need to be made. Hiring pleasant and polite employees who prioritise customer satisfaction would be a step in the right direction. Additionally, it is crucial to have a manager who is not only intelligent but also properly trained in handling customer complaints and ensuring a high level of service.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this pub. The dreadful vibe, terrible customer service, and apparent disregard for customer experience make it clear that there are better options available. I hope the owner of Dingwells takes these concerns seriously and strives to improve their establishment for the sake of...
