I was originally looking for a place to buy yerba mate and wasn’t sure if this shop had it. I noticed they had a wide variety of teas, so I decided to call. A very kind person answered and asked me to send my email so they could share more information. Just a few minutes later, I received a detailed email with all their products, and to my delight I found out they actually sell yerba mate similar to the one we drink in Argentina, plus a few other varieties. I went to the shop and asked directly about the yerba. They confirmed they sell it by grams and accept both cash and card payments, which was perfect for me since I had cash on hand. It honestly saved me. I also decided to try another variety because the aroma alone was stunning. Just smelling it dry gave me such a strong and pleasant sensation that I couldn’t resist taking some home. Still curious about their range of products, I asked Victoria, the staff member who attended me, for a recommendation. She gave me excellent advice, kindly let me smell different blends, and thanks to her I chose the “Giant Pear” tea, which is a green tea with pear. I enjoyed it right there in their outdoor seating area, which was a lovely experience. This shop is located inside Camden Market, and I have to say the service and atmosphere were incredible. It is such a necessary spot for people who love these traditional drinks and sometimes struggle to find them abroad. Thank you so much, everything was excellent. đŸ§‰đŸ‡ŠđŸ‡·

This morning I had a piece of Baklava and a delicious cup of herbal Cairo Chamomile tea recommended and served by the amazing Mihaela. Every time I visit I feel like I’m visiting a friend who’s just making me a cup of tea to sooth me in preparation for whatever I have to deal with that day, really great service. I think you can ask for a tea to help with any situation, she is amazing at recommending different teas to try. The shop has been in this location for about three years and can be found in the middle of the market. So after all the hustle and bustle of shopping or just wondering around the market you can climb a few stairs and escape into a tranquil and calming Tea Bar where you will be dazzled by the wide array of teas you can choose from. I really recommend this place if you’ve had enough is the endless drab chains of coffee outlets on the main road. Pop in and try the latest creation of white chocolate Matcha Latte or even a Chai Latte if you don’t fancy tea that is, but the teas will excite you for sure and open up a new world where you can explore the amazing aromas and flavours of herbal teas that you never realised even existed.

I was looking for something that is more "local", like enjoyed a lot by the locals. The staff let me smelled a variety of blend. I got the English country garden in the end. The smell of the blend was very smooth, it has a bit of sweetness in its aroma but not like the repulsive refined sugar kind, more subtle and warm, just enough to remain in the back of my throat. What's more surprising to me was the taste. Since it is under the herbal tea category, and more often than not, typical herbal one can find in a normal shop is either just smell great but taste like nothing, or too citrusy. This one tastes very consistent with the smell, the subtle sweetness wrapped around my tongue (really feel it on the side) and slided down my throat, smooth like butter and milk. It has a firm body and not too heavy, just the right amount of sweetness (like 2.5 out of 10 sweet, it is there, but it is not a sugar drink, which is exactly the right amount), and a relaxing smell. It said on the menu that it is with summer freshness, but it certainly remind me of a warm, sunny day in mid spring. Highly recommended.

I’ve been a customer of the Camden Tea Shop for a long time now - at least 7 years. The store has moved locations twice since I first visited, and its lovely to see the small business grow. I live in Nottingham but make a point of visiting Camden Tea for my loose leaf tea whenever I am in the area - usually a couple of times a year. The service is incredible, and if you like lots of different teas on the go at once, they sell little glass jars to store your tea in and they keep fresh for ages. My favourite teas amongst the many are Mango Black tea, Irish Hot Toddy, Merchants Chai Tavern, Creamy Caramel Rooibos
. So many to choose from!

I recently popped in during December but they’d sold out of their glass jars (with my growing tea collection, I needed more!). I emailed them when I got home to ask if they would get them back in - I had a super speedy reply informing me of expected stock dates and even offering to put me a couple aside. Thankfully I did another impromptu visit this weekend and managed to pop in and get them. The lady who served me (didn’t catch her name) was so so lovely! We got chatting and she may have remembered me from a previous visit so chucked in a freebie!

The tea room always smells incredible, warming and inviting. If you are unsure of whether you’ll like a flavour or not, just ask - they might have a sample for you to try.

Cannot recommend enough for service and high...
