Not much to the atmosphere when you walk in but it is in a great location. It is right in the heart of Camden Market, along the Camden Lock. We weren’t wowed when we walked in but were hungry and looking for food. I had been drinking their beer at pubs around the UK since I arrived two weeks ago, so I wanted to try their brewery. Although not wowed by the atmosphere of the place, the food was fantastic. They don’t have a kids menu but I got the Cotswold fried chicken, without the hot sauce, for my 4 year old daughter and it was amazing. My wife and I shared the fish and chips and it was probably the best we’ve had since we’ve been here. The only hiccup was that a lot of the cocktails on their cocktail menu contained Beefeater Gin but they were out of Beefeater Gin and they couldn’t, or wouldn’t, substitute another of their gins in the cocktail, so half their cocktail menu was unavailable. That being said, I wouldn’t come here for the atmosphere or cocktails, there are better spots you can have a drink overlooking the Camden Locks, but if you’re hungry, definitely come for the fish and chips or the Cotswold Fried chicken. Based on the quality of these two dishes, their kitchen definitely know what they are doing and you wouldn’t be disappointed.

Lockside Camden is a large, popular pub in the heart of Camden Town, directly adjacent to the canal and overlooking parts of the extremely busy Camden Market. The décor inside is fairly modern, bar style, and suitable for larger groups, too - clean and inviting. On top of that they have a nice terrace to the front to relax and observe the hoi polloi swarming down there around the food stalls. The beer range includes national and international lagers and pale ales. This is a pub mostly for the younger urban crowd, not so much the middle-aged real ale lover such as myself. That said, I really enjoyed sitting on the terrace (for 2 hours, eventually), where it is surprisingly quiet considering all the hustle and bustle in the area. Note that the beers to drink on the terrace are served in plastic cups. Good quality pub food is also available, though your food needs might even be better satisfied by stalls below. Prices are slightly elevated, but normal for this touristy place.. Toilets are kept in excellent shape, the gents' loo has its own toilet attendant. Highly recommended in this area.

Headline: good for drinks. Food is a bit average. I tried their Eat Out to Help Out menu which consisted of the Wagyu Burger and the Soft Shell Crab Burger. I found the wagyu burger to be a decent take on the classic burger with a good combination of flavours and textures and a generous serving of fries. The Crabacado Burger on the other hand was abysmal. While in theory this should have worked, considering it was on a pretty good pretzel bun, in reality it was wayyyyyy to salty. I suspect the chef dropped the salt container into the batter. I also found there to be too much of a mishmash of flavours and the texture wasn't there - too gooey from the avocado and red pepper tartare. Too complicated for a burger that should have been more simple and focused on the soft shell crab. They also ran out of a couple of beers that I liked. On the plus side, great views of Camden Lock. I'd go back there for drinks and views. đŸ’„đŸ‘šâ€đŸłfollow me for reviewsđŸ„˜đŸłđŸ“ŒđŸ’„

I am truly appalled by the level of customer service my friends and I received during our recent visit. A blonde woman, who appeared to be a manager and was wearing heavy eyeliner, behaved extremely rudely towards my stepmother. A minor issue had arisen regarding a drink order, and instead of handling it calmly and professionally, both the staff and security responded as though we had caused a major disturbance. It was clear that they approached the situation with disinterest, as if they were simply looking for something to do.

After politely requesting that a drink be remade, we sat down to enjoy the rest of our evening. However, approximately 20 minutes later, two security personnel approached and pulled my stepmother aside for a private conversation. This was particularly upsetting, as it was our first night out in quite some time. Concerned, I walked over to check on her, only to be met with hostility. I was pointed at and asked, "Who even are you and why are you getting involved?" a response I found entirely unnecessary and unprofessional.

If there was no intention of asking my stepmother to leave the premises, then the prolonged interaction with her seemed excessive and inappropriate. When the manager returned, she avoided making eye contact with either of us, which was surprising. If she believed she was in the right, one would expect her to address the matter more directly and confidently.

We were later informed that the manager suffers from severe anxiety and had been crying, stating she would not return to work unless we left the venue. This seemed like an unreasonable justification, especially given the minor nature of the original issue.

To add to this concern, after reading several online reviews, it appears that this particular woman has been mentioned multiple times and seems to be a recurring issue for other customers as well.

Overall, the experience was incredibly disappointing. The establishment appears to be staffed by young individuals who are more focused on finding reasons to take breaks than providing quality service. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously, as this type of service is...

Popped in here yesterday with my step daughter and witnessed a lady spill her full drink across the table accidentally. I found out it was her first day out after giving birth and she was with one of her friends. She went to the bar and explained what had happened and they offered a soda water instead of replacing the gin and Tonic. I then went to the bar and spoke to a blonde lady with dark eyeliner who I was told is the manager. I explained that the lady was being genuine as I had watched her spill her drink and as a good will gesture and good customer service it would have been good of the bar to replace the spilt drink. This manager walked me over to a man with no introduction and said speak to him. She gave me no eye contact and when I placed my hand on her arm to say it was just feedback she said so rudely 'do not touch me!'. I then explained once again to this man who said he was the manager. He listened and said he would come back to me. The next time he came back to me he was asking me to leave the premises along with security as I was causing trouble. The lady manager had said I was clicking my fingers in her face saying all sorts. Honestly it was such an awful experience. Security then called the female manager over who still continued to lie and not give me any eye contact. As I walked through security and the girl to get my bag she did not move and elbowed me slyly. Shocking behaviour and views from staff at this place. I will not...

Had a lovely afternoon that ended in a disgusting display of racism from a member of your staff. We spent 4 hours drinking, had been laughing and joking with the staff. 4 hours in, one of the staff who has served us all day, asked if our black friend was bothering us! We thought it was banter so laughingly said yes, barman then told our friend he had to leave after the next drink. He came back and our black friend said what's the problem, he was then asked to leave! My other friend went to the barman and asked what the problem was, I went to the black security guard to complain, he said he had seen us all afternoon and didn't see what the problem was. He called barman over who told us he had a duty to all women to make sure we are safe. I pointed out that we had been there all afternoon and hadn't had a problem which he had to agree to, I asked why now is it a problem. He kept saying he has to keep women safe. As a woman, yes it's great that the bar has this policy but to throw a man out after 4 hours, who had spent well over ÂŁ100, when he had done nothing wrong doesn't seem right. Do you ask all women if their male companion is bothering them or is it just the ones that have a black man at their table? The couple sitting behind us, witnessed this and walked out in disgust. Funny enough, the woman (white) who had gone from table to table poncing drinks and to my knowledge stole at least 3 of your ashtrays, went...
