The Yummy Greek — Restaurant in London

On 22.4.2024, Monday, my wife and I stopped by this Greek restaurant in Romford for dine-in lunch. At 15:15pm we have read the menu outside, before going in, and photo'ed the advertised "The Yummy Hour 15% Off Dine-In Monday-Thursday 3pm-6pm (Please see the attached photo). Sat inside and ordered among others, 1 Chicken Souvlaki and 1 Pork Souvlaki. Several minutes later, they brought us 1 Chicken GYRO and 1 CHICKEN GYRO. We informed the waitress, which politely she understood the two mistakes on our order. She told us that she could change the order and bring us the correct one and also mentioned 3 times that we will be given a discount too. With that, we accepted to have the food they mistakenly brought to us. Asked for the bill and paid, only to realize later that the advertised 15% Discount was NOT given and NO other discount was given for the mistakes made by the restaurant. Clearly this made us both feel like we have been lied to. Please see the receipt and draw your own conclusions. How can we recommend this place? Me and a friend thought we would check this place out and we were not dissapointed considering we had no expectations. Firstly the service is great its friendly, attentive and the right balance of making sure your ok but not bothering you. Now for the food we got a mix bunch from mixed gyros plate, mix grilled meat place, some sausage, spicy feta and then some other bits. The mixed gyros portion firstly was huge we asked for no salad and they did not leave any space on the plate the meat was very well cooked, seasoned and very tasty the same can be said for the mixed grilled meats again very good my preference was the pork but both are tasty. Everything else was pretty much the same just really good tasting food. I did want to order Octopus but this was not available and we came early so the slow cooked pork was also not available but that's understandable considering we arrived just after opening. We went here for my mum's birthday as she wanted Greek food and it was rated well online. The food definitely did not disappoint! Everything I ate was amazing from start to finish. I thought the prices were also very good and the portions were huge. There was a delay in one of the starters, the entire table has finished their starter before my sister's was bought over and then the same issue for dessert. Everyone's desserts came over and my nephew had to wait quite a while before he got his. But aside from those small hiccups, the meal went well. Everyone enjoyed themselves and commented on how nice the food was. After the meal, I ordered take away for my husband who couldn't make it to the birthday meal, and the take away food was just as good. The manager (?) Also gave me a free dessert with his food which I appreciated beyond belief and it made my night.
