Very rude staff. Called up to make a booking at 7pm and was told "we will be closing soon". Closing time was 10pm with restaurant closing at 9pm.
On arrival were told that we could sit outside but there was no room for our 3 year old to sit with us! How is that even considered an option?
Our 3 year old had his bike parked inside by one of the waiters and being 3 years old he went to find it and "ride it" back outside. He rode about 1 metre before I went inside to stop him and explain to him why he can't ride it. While talking to my son the same person who answered the phone before came over to tell me my 3 year old wasn't allowed to ride inside "because it will scratch the floor". I told him that my son is only 3 and that I was already explaining to him why he can't ride his bike. The guy then said "well you are older than him". There were 3 of us there and only one was acting like a 3 year old.
Needless to say we left and had dinner down the road to Mamma Ristorant instead.
I’ve experienced racism and prejudice at times in my life and it resonated loud and clear at this place.
BTW the flooring was nothing...
Read morePossibly the worst Italian food I have ever eaten (and I say this as an Italian). Been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long time because it looked very attractive but was extremely disappointed by the food and service. The initial staff were reasonably friendly but one of the waiters (presumably the owner) tried to convince me the ragu was fine and just wasn’t suitable for “my taste” when I wanted it deducted from the bill as it was practically inedible. It was in fact bland, cheaply made and almost tasted shop bought. Gamberetti was average (just garlic), the most bland potatoes I think I’ve ever eaten and as previously mentioned the ragu was awful. We were served two orange juices that weren’t even freshly made and when asked neither waiter had any clue about the very few mains listed on their menu. Overall vibe and atmosphere was decent but why go to somewhere that looks nice with awful food that isn’t...
Read moreWalked past this wine bar many times over the years and figured we’d pop in and try a nice glass of wine. The boss came in and asked if we were going to buy anything which insulted me and I wanted to leave but the nice lady behind bar said that the boss says things like that and was just joking. The wine was as expected for what we ordered, we weren’t going to make a larger purchase because we were now unsure about the whole experience. A shame because I had originally wanted to find a Brunello di Montalcino and thought they would likely have a good one. We were delivered some olives and crunchy bread bites which we weren’t expecting, that’s why we’ve added an extra star. We weren’t asked if we liked the wine or if we wanted another glass or different wine to try. The whole experience was very uncomfortable.
I still don’t think the boss was joking. We will not...
