My daughter loves Chinese food so we came here on the evening of her 9th birthday, a school night. I chose Hiro on the basis of the favourable reviews below and booked a table in advance. There were six of us. We arrived at 7.05pm and had to wait in an otherwise deserted restaurant for one hour and 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Mysterious allusions to "problems" in the kitchen were offered in embarrassed tones, but without elaboration. We almost left at one point but were assured the food would be ready within 10 minutes: it wasn't. Just as we had made up our mind to give up, it finally arrived. The food is great, the portions are great, the service is great, and the price is great. We have eaten in twice and had a delivery once. We would not have been back if we were disappointed. Kung Pao Chicken was the best we have had. We had rice with duck and there was plenty of duck and the rice was well cooked - thoroughly enjoyable. No need to go to Leicester Square or Queensway. Previously we have had crispy chilli shredded beef which was good and excellent chicken with black bean sauce. We are looking forward to sampling more dishes here. We last went on Friday...
