Rating: 3/5 stars. My brother and I opted for the “All You Can Eat” menu, as we were quite hungry. Having tried sushi and similar deals in various European countries, we had expectations going in. ### Starter: Meal included Edamame, Miso Soup, and two other items from the starters. We chose Prawn Tempura and Takoyaki. The Fried Prawn was enjoyable, but the Takoyaki was overly hot and too saucy to eat comfortably. The Miso Soup came in a smaller bowl compared to other places we’ve been, but overall, we were satisfied with the portion size and variety of the starters. However, I ordered an additional Miso Soup and, on a third round, asked if it was included in the deal. It wasn’t, but the waiter kindly offered it at no extra charge. While I appreciated the gesture, this revealed a flaw in the “All You Can Eat” structure—starters like Miso Soup should either be included or stated as a disclaimer. **Sidenote:** In some countries (like Nordic ones), Miso Soup is often unlimited, and the restaurant should consider adopting this practice despite London’s sushi norms. --- ### Service & Food Selection: Service was fine, but there seemed to be some miscommunication. We requested a mix of all available options, with an equal balance of Nigiri and Maki, and no Sashimi. What we received was 35 pcs of Maki, 2 pcs of Nigiri (Shrimp), and 7 pcs of Sashimi. It seemed the chef partially acknowledged our Nigiri request, as we got two pieces, which is rare based on other reviews where none were provided. Still, the imbalance was disappointing. We felt obligated to finish everything before ordering more, which added to the frustration. From an economic standpoint, I understand that Maki is cheaper to prepare than Nigiri due to the lower fish content. However, we were given 7 pieces of Sashimi, which could easily have been substituted for Nigiri instead. This might have been a misunderstanding, but it detracted from the experience. --- ### Food Experience, Presentation & Quality: Without factoring in special requests, the fish itself was fresh, except for the shrimp in the Nigiri, which was subpar. The rice, seaweed and wasabi quality were below the standard I’ve experienced elsewhere in same price range but enough to still enjoy the food. The fried prawn in the Maki was a nice touch, reminiscent of the starter, but there was a lack of variety in taste. We received two sets of prawn-based Maki (10 pieces) that seemed almost identical, with only the topping differing. The Tempura Maki stood out as the most enjoyable among the sets. While I found the Maki acceptable, my dining partner was less impressed, finding the overall taste lacking. This dissatisfaction left us unmotivated to order more, despite the option to do so included. Perhaps it was the rice quality, the warmer temperature of the rice, or the thinness of the seaweed—something felt off, but I can’t pinpoint exactly what. --- ### Final Thoughts: We noticed other diners making full use of the “All You Can Eat” top-ups, ordering well beyond the initial 40-piece platter. For the average hungry sushi eater, this deal could work and you would still enjoy the food. However, since we were dissatisfied with the flavor, lack of variety, and our unfulfilled request for a full selection, we didn’t feel to top up. To improve the experience, the restaurant should offer a more balanced starting platter that includes a mix of all available options. This would also make it easier for diners to choose their top-ups and create a more enjoyable and engaging dining experience. I’m still curious to try the full variety of offerings and believe this approach would’ve lead to a more favorable review. But it’s unlikely to happen given the higher costs involved with such a platter.. --- ### Price: We paid £70 in total. Given our dissatisfaction and unmet expectations, we could have spent less and had better variety by ordering à la carte. At this price point and food quality, we would rather opt for a smaller amount of higher-quality sushi at a different restaurant.

I was honestly very excited to visit this place after seeing so many good reviews and promotions on social media. Travelling over an hour to try out the bottomless sushi platter.. all I can say from this experience is that I'm just really disappointed. The main issue with the dish was the sushi rice, the texture was quite mushy and the consistency was not what a sushi rice should taste like. Having to leave a few roll sets on the platter I pointed this out to lady who was serving us, she then began to reason(?) and went to the chef to I assume report back what I had said. She then brought out a new batch of rice and after trying it out it was better but just alright to be honest. After that I had ordered a few extra pieces of two different rolls but the taste of these sushi's had not met my expectations. The "sushi" rice being too thick and not being made properly just made the visit quite upsetting as the rolls did not taste that good. Once finished and ready for payment I had to ask the lady to remove the service charge because this was way below my expectation. She still tried to charge saying that it was mandatory which is not true because if the customer is not pleased with the service then it can be removed. Still said thank you but was ignored no response back. I've visited different Japanese restaurants before and had no problem but this place is the first for me to try sushi where the rice was cooked and made poorly. Not sure if the other location makes it the same as here but I won't be visiting either branches and will not be recommending. Truly disappointing and learnt my lesson not to trust all reviews and promotions. Edit** To address the confusion: yes, I did top up my platter after the server brought out a new batch of rice — I assumed the following rolls would have tasted better. Unfortunately, the texture still just mid, just alright and I wanted to give it a fair try rather than leave based on a single first impression. That doesn’t mean I was enjoying the food — just that I was hopeful it would improve. Regarding the travel and cost — £27.50 per person plus travel time and expenses is not a small outing, so I was genuinely hoping for a quality experience. For the price, I expected a higher standard, both in food and service. Saying that other people travel far, and is considered "normal" doesn’t invalidate my disappointment — everyone’s time and money matter.

7/10 ⭐️ The sushi bottomless promotion was very worthy of its £30pp price, serving you miso soup, 2 starters & a huge 40 piece platter and a decent selection of top ups. This branch has plenty of indoor seats, with an aesthetically pleasing ambience downstairs. I would recommend this branch for a more dine in experience compared to the other market branch! The staff were very friendly and attentive and had amazing customer service. — PROMOTION — I would highly recommend the takoyaki & prawn tempura as starters since they were very fresh and tasted amazing! The miso soup & salted edamame were also very nice. The sushi platter was quite large, having a nice range of different sushi’s & sashimis. The initial bite of each different sushi tasted very nice, cleansing our palate with ginger, but the more we ate, we realised there was an overuse of cream cheese which was beginning to overwhelm our palate with a sickening taste. The smoked sashimi & salmon sashimi tasted amazing and was probably the best item on the platter. Only wished the sashimi was cut thicker! The tuna sashimi tasted quite lean in my opinion, not the best cut of tuna since the texture was quite rough to chew. The tartare sushi rolls tasted quite nice, balancing the two flavours together well. One of the rolls was overflowing & drenched in sauce which overwhelmed the flavour of the actual sushi roll, making it sickening after the first bite. Another sushi included mango which definitely did not complement the flavour and highly recommend to avoid an abomination of a sushi! The use of overfilling cream cheese and deep fried sushi rolls are used to fill you up quicker alongside of their thick rice so you get full faster and not order any more, despite the bottomless promotion. The portion of wasabi and ginger was more than enough for the platter. As an avid sushi eater, the promotion price was very worth and if they made a few small changes to the sushi’s on the platter, I would highly recommend!

Response to the owner

It's regrettable. I only expressed how I felt in that establishment, but instead of trying to resolve the issue, the owner tried to say that my feelings are false and came through threats saying she will take the case to the authorities. And by the way, if you wanted to talk to someone, it should have been me, since here's my Gmail, but instead you contacted my wife. She didn't complain about anything, but I did, because I felt offended, and so did our guests. In other words, we have witnesses. And by the way, I have screenshots of your conversation with my wife and the threat. The claim was that you didn't have my phone number. I'll send you a "hi" on WhatsApp so you'll have my number and can complain directly to me. But saying you'll take the case to the authorities doesn't scare me, and I'm waiting to be contacted by the authorities because there's much more to this story that hasn't been told here, and as you yourself said, your CCTV will greatly help in resolving this case.

Original complaint

On October 23, 2025, it was my wife's birthday. We went to celebrate at this restaurant because we are, or rather, were regular customers of the place because the sushi chef is known for his work of art in the kitchen. However, we were served this time by the owner, who was very rude and hostile to us and our guests. I even went to speak to the chef because what we normally like to eat, and he knows what it is, was not served to us. It was due to rules imposed by the owner. Simple things like, for example, instead of cream cheese, mayonnaise was put on the sushi. He said he didn't know what was going on. However, the impression we got is that the owner doesn't really like Brazilian customers in her establishment. So, from now on, I will look for another place to go and recommend to friends. I don't intend to go back to this restaurant, much less recommend it to anyone, which is a shame because not the place, but the chef has enormous talent. It's a shame that I'm not a restaurant owner, otherwise I would definitely hire that chef because he is an absolute success. I hope that if one day he goes to another restaurant, he lets us know, because I will go wherever he goes to be able to eat again. your preparations but unfortunately it will not be possible in that restaurant since due to my nationality I am...
