Also had an unfortunate experience with racism here. Pub lady made a racist comment about Bangladeshi people moving into the neighbourhood and the problems Bangladeshi people cause. I took offence and tried to explain that not liking the people in the neighbourhood is ok, but not liking all Bangladeshi people because of it is not ok. She did not like my explanation and told me to leave the pub - I insisted that she not kick me out on the basis of racism. Lovely old back street pub, the landlord and landlady made us feel really welcome and we got a few stories from the landlord about the filming of Legend of which was quite amusing. Will definitely go back there again next time we’re up there and I think everyone should go and support pubs like this and other old school pubs to keep them going!!
