Unique Coffee Bar — Restaurant in London

First & last time I’ll come to unique coffee bar I walked in and got served by a gentleman who didn’t have a clue what he was doing and had to ask the lady for clarification on how to use the till and even got my drink order wrong after clearly explaining it to him. The atmosphere from both of them I could feel made me quite uncomfortable. I asked what syrups they do the gentleman explained them to me, so I chose a small whole milk, caramel 1 shot latte and was going to choose the caramel shortbread they had a sign out showing homemade near the jar of white chocolate and milk chocolate cookies so I asked the lady if the shortbread was homemade and she said they’ve only taken ownership in the last two days to their shop bought, Lidl was only across the road and I thought to myself that’s cheeky. When I asked what was homemade? Seeing as the sign was out she responded telling me the sandwiches are which is false advertising of baked goods. I said I don’t want the caramel shortbread as I wanted to try the homeade baked goods. So just had the coffee. I paid £4.50 to realise after from looking at the price board I’d been overcharged for my coffee and couldn’t work out why so I asked him I asked for a caramel whole milk 1 shot latte so if the coffee is £3.20 how much is the syrup? He said 0.65p so that totals to £3.85 you charged me £4.50? He said you wanted a caramel oat latte I said no a whole milk caramel latte and I had to spell out ‘whole’ to him and even say blue full fat milk to him to understand my coffee order again. At that point I was quite drained. He managed to speak in front of the lady awkwardly to tell her the situation in which she rectified and he gave me my change back. I feel impelled to leave a 5-star review for this coffee spot due to the kindness shown to me during my visit yesterday. I stopped by for a coffee and a slice of cake to take away before my hairdresser appointment next door, but when I went to pay, the card on my phone wouldn't work. I didn't have a physical card with me, and after a few failed tentatives, I apologized mortified and was about to leave. The kind lady at the bar told me to grab my order anyway. I took the coffee and was going to leave the cake as I didn't want to indulge but she insisted o took the cake too. A gesture of kindness goes a long way as it lit my mood on a grey sad day. Service: staff members are great, friendly, helpful, and full of smiles 😃 The place is nicely done and rather aesthetic but not kids/ large group (mum group) friendly seating plan wise. More space at the back but a bit dark-ish! Bearing in mind there are a lot of mum group/classes run in the area and love to try new places locally. Drinks: coffee is average. Food: never tried as they don’t look that appealing and the food bar always seems to be steamy! Great to see baguettes/sandwiches no longer wrapped in clingfilm 👍🏽
